Went bombing around URE last night, no issues besides a rock hitting my windshield on the way there and it now looks like a bullet hole:mad::mad:.

Prepping for a trip to windrock next week and finally decided to address the crack above my driver's side rear spring hanger. What I learned is I need to upgrade the power in my new houses garage, I can weld for about 2mins then the breaker pops.
    IMG_20210813_154733907.jpg
And the patch, I figured some 3/16" plate I had laying around and bridge the gap/tie it into the bed mount should be good enough.
    IMG_20210813_164805077.jpg

Not my best welds but oh well.

How many amps is the breaker? I found 20 gave me enough for my Hobart 140 no matter what.

    15. I used a 20amp at my old house and it worked well like yours. I want to install a sub panel for the garage, next year I want to install a whole house generator and I'll have them do the panel then.

Went to windrock for the first time with @ovrlndkull @Snowy @Justinogo and a non TW member this weekend. Probably the hardest wheeling I've done since my post SAS shakedown run in SD. Day 1 we ran 15, and then found ourselves in a bit over our head on trail 40 and it made for a 12hr day, with the last 5 being a winch fest. No one really broke anything that day outside of the Cherokees little issues, also the first time skip had it on the trails after buying it. Day 2 was a more "mild" day where we ran trail 16 which took 5hrs, the baby blue 4runner blew a head gasket early in the day. Onto the pics:

The theme of the day for the xj, dropping coils out the rear, this is the begining of trail 40.
    IMG_20210820_171919881.jpg
"The exits not that much further ahead", we got off the trail 7hrs after this pic was taken LOL!! The trail wasn't bad up until this point, then the rocks got huge and the ledges got long and big.

No more pics of 40 because it got dark and we were pulling cable for the rest of the night. It was actually pretty fun!

Awesome group, awesome trails, awesome time! No major carnage besides the blown head gasket but he knew that day was coming any trip now, and now he wants a taco LOL!!! My truck did great, my front pax side hub was making weird clicking noises on the drive off the trails and would make some weird chirps turning hard left on the street, I'll have to pull it apart before the fall wheeling season starts up to make sure it's nothing major in there. Other than that just some more body damage for me on the exit of 40. No other real issues, the Cherokee has some stuff that needs fixing, muffler and some headlocks, but after those and about 5hrs in the garage and some more seat time, that will be a fun rig to watch on the trails!

Day2 was trail 16 BTW Holly flex where Conner has my spring that felt a whole lot worse in the cab than it probably was to tipping.
Day 1 was 15 first then to trail 3 to 40 which is Rail Trail then up and out the hard climb of 39 Cadillac Hill. Which I think what we came out of is how people typically enter. I'll phone a friend and seek advice on how to run the trails next time.

    Had a blast.
Fun to see the low slow crawl work.

Already gonna see if I can't get in before labor day for limit straps and exhaust situation.

That's for the assist on the trail numbers. So that last climb out we were winching up was cadilac hill? It was funny I was thinking I want to actually run that trail the "correct" direction now and compare!

Yes I think you enter there and run it down. Now the trail we got onto it from where we were going downhill the whole time was Rail Trail and it'd be gnarly going up. I'd like to run the rest of cadillac on a drier day :rofl:I wouldn't mind giving 40 a go going the opposite we went either.

Nah man that obstacle was scratchy as hell! When my ass slid over like yours I almost dumped the clutch and pin it due to how tippy it felt. Jason talked me out of that, but I thought I was going on my side on that section.

Getting use to a shorter and more flexy rig is a whole new thing for comfort.

@Snowy and @ovrlndkull we are all dumbasses, if you open the map up there is a legend on the back of one of the flaps that tells you the name of all the trails. That would have been kind of helpful on sat LOL!!

What was the best is your celebration of that damage after you got to the top and got out! Love that shit! That was a hell of an end to the day and everyone getting back to camp and in good spirits was good.
