How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Got an update from the Dealer yesterday. Said that the production date is still 09/08/21-09/15/21 (temp VIN indicates this week). *sigh*

I try not to think about it or keep refining my list of mods that I want to do in the mean time. This is definitely testing my patience, haha!

 

The second dealer I went to and put a deposit on a truck gave me a temp vin already with the printout. Said the truck was scheduled to be built on 9/1, showed me on his computer. However the last 5th and 6th digits on that vin are 33. You guys have 31, and not built yet? Is the toyota factory just behind? Or am I looking at the wrong digits?

 

@Ryan914 those should be your expected build week. What's the full temp vin? To me, it sounded like scheduled builds were a week behind (at least at the San Antonio plant) as of the first week of August. Perhaps they have slipped a second week by now?

 

3tycz5an8mt33c158, is what they gave me on a 21 trd off road 6mt in army green. Looks like it’s a build in Mexico. Not anything surprising from reading this thread.

 

As you may know, there are two assembly locations in Mexico. Your truck is being built at Guanajuato, Mexico based on the "mt" in the temporary vin. The other location is Baja, which would have "mm" in the temp vin.

 

Based on this, my truck is being made in Baja and I'm in central NH. It figures they would pick the farthest factory, LOL.

 

Just got an email from the Salesman. My truck is in. Heading over now to get my son's truck appraised, and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

 

Finally got permanent vin start with 5 , built in Texas. SR5 4x4 with tech package. delivery window 8/26-9/8 . I am at Little Rock, hope it will come soon. Deposited $1000 on June 30th.

 

Well it makes me sick to see you all getting these trucks so quick. Im in communications with about 9 dealers right now who have no manual trd sport or off road dblcb in magnetic gray or silver or basic 4runner sr5 in same colors.. zero allocations of this variety.. my phone is blowing up with emails about auto tacomas and ocverpriced 4runners with a bunch of stupid options that I couldn’t care less about. Doesnt help that taxes will be around 3500 and setup bs fees and the rest will tack on another 1700 to 2000.. maybe its just not meant to be.

 

Sorry to hear that, I’ve only had to deal with two dealers… first dealer I put down a deposit for a sport MT back on 5/1. They finally said they couldn’t allocate one for me and returned my deposit. I guess I just lucked out at the sock day dealer that they had a truck scheduled to be built already to my specifications (other than being an off road rather than a sport.

 

Sorry man, just had to vent. I’m working way to hard to spend such a large sum of money on something thats overpriced as it is.. paying msrp and all.

Just got a text from my sales guy…

So, I got my permanent vin on Aug 11, so was kind of crossing my fingers for an early September arrival. No such luck. Estimated delivery is now Sept 27-Oct 4

Half jokingly replied that they should throw in a complementary lift kit for Toyota making me wait yet another month.

Guess I can’t complain too much. My build twin in Idaho had 2 full months for his delivery as well.

 

Congrats! Delivery date is better than nothin’! Mine keeps getting pushed back because of port delays, so shall see. It’s come though!

 

Just swapped my deposit from green sport to white off road. The off road is in transit so should be in soon. Hopefully keeps my wait time to under 2 months.

 

If it’s built, and on it’s way(ish), that’s a good thing!

 

So I was given a temp VIN with a build date of 8/30. About a week ago I got a message from my sales guy saying it was delayed until an unknown time. Do you think that i will still get a 2021 or do you think it will be delayed and just made as a 2022?

 

I really don’t have the time to travel to pick it up.. work is pretty much taking up my entire day mon-sat. Plus id like a silver or magnetic gray..thanks for finding those tho man, I do appreciate it!
