Okay. So heres what i need to do. I want to take my OEM spare from under my truck and put on a new tires that fits the diameter of my 285/70/17 tires.
I rather not spend all that money on a aftermarket wheel/ tire that will prob never be needed. So what have you guys done in that sense. Whats the biggest tire you have under your truck? I looked on the tire calculators and they say 265/80/16 are compatible. Has anyone done this with a spare?

ALSO i will prob get that exhaust that ends before the rear axel so there wont be an issue there.

I may get bashed for this, but I put 285/70/17s on my truck. I'm leaving the spare stock. If I ever need it, its just going to be to either get home, or to a shop. I can deal with the screwy driving temporarily.

I get it if im going local but if im driving from FL-NY then i rather not get stuck in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night trying to get a new tire.

Just be careful, and anyone please correct me if I'm wrong but if you're going to run a different sized spare I believe you would at least have to rotate that spare to the front if your flat happened to be on a rear tire. Running different sized rear tires can cause damage to the differential since it will be turning them at different rates while fighting the traction.

I bought a 5th rim and the exact same tire as I have on the other 4 wheels (Wildpeak 275/70R17). I do 5 wheel rotations and can fit the spare under the bed with a slight modification to the pulley (moved it to the rear an inch).

correct, hence why i want a similar sized tire. It wouldnt be exact but will be better than the OEM spare size. if i got a flat in the rear i would 100% put the spare up front

Yeah, I'm going to have to do the same thing since my plan is to go with 33"s next time I need tires. Why not just use 5 of the same? As someone just posted, you can fit a 33" spare if you move the hoist backwards a little. Do you want a narrower tire so that you get a little more ground clearance than you would if you had a 285 mounted under the bed? Just curious.

i was thinking that but it wouldnt make sense since my aftermarket wheels are 17x9. Spare is 16x7 maybe? I didnt want to spend $250 on a spare tire that i will barely use. $100-150 would be good i think on a smaller lower end brand tire

You may be aware but I would make sure you check the actual tire height if you're buying a different tire of the same size. They can can be listed as the same size and be half an inch different in height.

Put gas in it. Don't think I need to mod the gas cap door.

It's cool. I keep my 4' level, axe, bow saw, blueprints, and recovery crap up there. It's not as solid as i expected. The plastic is one layer that's not quite as thick as I expected. Not as substantial as a pelican case, but it's spacious, the struts are great. It does what I wanted it to do and looks cool in the process.

Same here, love mine! Easy to set up and works well right out of the box. Not too expensive either. Get the larger memory card and polarizer filter too, no glare.

You guys really don't need resistors to fix the hyperflash....

I have the stage 2, and when you change your front turn signals to the VLED bulbs, you have no hyper flash.

if you have the ability to change the front turn signals. I have Morimoto XB headlights and no can do. Plus, anyone with OEM LED Headlights can't change anything either. Now, if you an assembly to change the turn signals, then
