Unless the needles in your needle bearing have broken or come out and are clicking as your diff rotates through the gears. Or are just riding around in there somehow.

It's just one of those things you should do sooner rather than wait on it. No point not to. Should've done it while he had it apart.

 

I slung some pretty fierce shit at the end. I don't regret it, but I was ready to defend....

never had the driver side fully out i just took the boots off and replaced them. ive never had the issue with my needle bearing and the noise wasnt there before hand

 

Yeah, but banging around on your CV's probably didn't do it any favors either. Do a diff fluid change and see if you got needles or metal shavings. I still think it's the worm gear on your Outer CV boot though.

 

unsure but ive never heard of one making a clunk sound it sounds like something is hitting something but i cant see what it is i thought it might be the new style of cv clamps hitting the control arm since its a screw style instead of a crimp style but its got clearance a lot of it so cant be that

 

unsure the truck is just getting more and more annoying and im getting tired of it again and we never talked about a worm gear so you lost me

 

This is a worm gear clamp, I said it twice yesterday.

 

oh the boot clamp ya i looked at that its got loads of clearance and is nowhere near hitting

 

I'll be doing mine this Saturday. Surprisingly the bearing looks fine considering the wheeling I've done the past couple of years
