Yup, that's the same as mine. I used a dremel with a cut off wheel to make the slots bigger. I also needed to a 1/4 thick piece to fill in the gap between the 2.

    Yeah me too!

I was talking to my MIL about them and she thought all the talk about their drug use was all just gossip. I explained to her that it certainly was not! Lol

Damn. I have a no fly list - it’s a bit morbid but it’s a list of “if I woke up tomorrow and saw this person was dead, I wouldn’t be surprised”.

notable entries: Bob barker, the queen, “any of The Rolling Stones or Aerosmith”.

this is I think the first time I’ve looked at the news and seen a name off the no fly list there. Eighty years though - and what an 80 years it was. Damn.

    I’ve seen similar.

it’s shenanigans. I don’t understand this now, and how they’re trying to skirt being grandfathered in too. If we went back tomorrow and said “anyone who owns an electric vehicle, hand in the plates, it doesn’t meet for some bullshit reason” - it would be a mutiny. But the kei truck owners are a small demographic so there’s no attention to it.

I just don’t see the upside, especially since there’s really not many owners here in the state - I don’t see what the benefit is yet, but I guarantee someone is making a benefit from these decisions.

I would absolutely LOVE to see this happen with electric vehicles (or an attempt at it). I know it never would for the simple reason that the gubment has shoved their subsidies so far up the EV's tailpipe (or battery vent tube?) that you can see it in the headlights. I agree though, I'm not seeing the angle here... They were all legal and registered, then the ban seems to be coming out of nowhere.

right like every fucking bolt ever made is a firebox. they should all be off the road and gmc should have to refund every single government subsidie given to the owners…but let’s go look at 30 year old trucks with like ten on the road…

hah! I was just picking something at random, basically something else that could just as much be justified with no reason.

They're old so don't meet standards....? That's all they got? Okay - go look at any other old vehicle that is at the same level of standards, then. Old big rigs - they're still chugging along, those don't meet the current standards. Hell my neighbor has a 2005 Kia, I bet that doesn't meet standards.

They're opening themselves up for a HUGE legal challenge - that they are not grandfathering in old vehicles, OR they're setting a very dangerous precedent that they are not going to allow old vehicles on the road, anything that doesn't meet CURRENT standards is a no go. That's a VERY dangerous place to be in. Hell, I bet some 2015+ cars don't meet the current standards.

Saw that! My friend sent me "Chevy has to recall every bolt", and in my mind, I completely forgot that the Bolt was a model they made. I was like WTF HOW BAD WAS THEIR QA!? .... then I realized I was a moron, BUT THEN thought ... WTF HOW BAD WAS THEIR QA!?

they are trying to blame LG Chem who
makes them. Which sure, but they are the supplier, it’s up to GM for final approval…

I guess they redid the batteries for the last two years, and it fails in the same way, just now in a different place.

Ultimately they are responsible, most likely GM just gave an envelope requirement to LG and said "make this" and LG made that, but the LG stuff that's under wraps in the black boxes on the GM design is what's going kattywompus. GM will be responsible to the customers, LG will be responsible to GM.

That's a bullshit argument, how many 50+ year old muscle cars do you see congregating on any given Sunday during the warm half of the year, with no issues whatsoever? Someone has to making something off of this decision somewhere, as unlikely as that seems...
Also I thought the same thing about the bolt when I read that sentence

Nothing wrong with it! But could you imagine if the government tried to get every muscle car owner to turn in their registrations?

It's the people in charge that have too much time on their hands.

It's like the RI bicycle helmet law.

You ride a bicycle and you are required to wear a helmet. You ride a 200 mph Suzuki Hayabusa and if you're the driver you don't need a helmet but a passenger does! o_O

I rarely ever see anyone of any age wear helmets here in RI.
