The OEM "skid" that was on my 4runner (and possibly my SR5 Taco, I can't remember) was pretty thin and weak, but its a lot better than nothing. I crawled underneath the truck yesterday and was surprised to see my front differential just chillin out there waiting for a rock or stick or log or whatever to smack into it. Doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies. For that reason I will be upgrading to an RCI skid much sooner than I intended.

The SR5 does not come with them either. I bought an OEM off Craigslist for $20 (from an Off-road model) just to have something there. I don't wheel, just a lot of forest and desert roads so I don't need a major skid. The fuel tank on the SR5 doesn't come with the plastic OEM skid either, so I made one just to be safe - light duty.

That fuel skid for the fuel tank you made is a lot better than what I have on my off-road .

I'm down here in the Florida swamps. I don't really have any rock climbing within hundreds of miles of me so something like this would be great. Appreciate the link. I'll throw this on my list.
