They're from the Bay Area (majority) so it's a 2 1/2 hr for them already.

There's a huge 559 Toyota group on FB and it's funny that the majority are more active there than on here.

What do you guys have planned for what might be a Labor Day outing?

I miss that show. I actually preferred when it was just him alone.

I loved the premise. I couldn't stand him as a character. I think I fell off partway through season 2.

Anyone know how to find AC amperage/load given DC voltage and amperage? I'm trying to figure out how many 120vAC amps a 12vDC 30a PSU would take, so I can run the right kind of outlet to the inverter. @Blue92 @0xDEADBEEF

No info on the power supply? All the ones I use clearly state the amperage required on the supply line.

It's a cheapo Chinese one, just says "!20vAC 50/60hz" for input.

I want to run like 4-5 of these in parallel to power my lightbars.

Best would be to measure it. But if you assume it’s like 75% efficient that’s 480w or 4A each at 120v

You have any recommendations on where to get high amperage 12vDC power? I know most automation stuff runs at 24vDC.

Being that he wants 4-5 of em in parallel and they draw atleast 4 amps each, I would do no more than two on the same 15A 120V circuit. Cant be too safe with garbage chinese electronics.

Not really. Most of our stuff is 12v, but we run it on a bank of batteries and a float charger in the field.

I do have one of these in the office though:

I might try for 3. At the full 360w load with my wag on efficiency it’s gonna blow 120watts worth of heat out. That’s a lot lol. They’re probably more efficient than that.

Oh yeah I've got one of those too, those are nice. They're designed for clean power delivery, the one I have is made for powering HAM radio equipment.

I just need like... 12x the amperage haha

I have one more blank breaker spot on the panel, I could run a 30A circuit I think.

In other words, 4-5 in parallel aint gonna happen. 2 on one circuit, 3 on the other (I would monitor amp draw though before calling it good).

Awh bummer, least you found an outlet for local peeps tho!

Shit, I'm thinking same spot to avoid others. I built the fireplace and only found a rusted can there as evidence of previous peeps. Weather was wonderful and sun was blocked on the west to allow sleeping in :)
