    I have a 2007 access cab and I want a canopy.
I found one on craigslist that is currently on a 2005 double cab, long bed. Will this fit my truck??

    Thanks!

Here in the Pacific Northwest they call them canopies, why I don't know. When I lived in Southern California they called them camper shells.

yea.. camper shell is just dumb.. there are campers.. these aint those. Canopies go on other trucks.. but again.. unless its a soft top.. probably technically wrong.. or at least against convention.

Anyway.. just came up a couple times lately.. was wondering if ignorant or regional

Yup, just like several have said. The long bed double cab and access cab take the same canopy. Only the back of the regular cab is more vertical and won't fit.

    This!

A camper is one that goes over the cab and has a bed and seats inside, designed for camping.

A canopy is just another name for a "cap"

yea.. none of the manufacturers use that, but they all have it in searchable terms. Local nonsense.. it happens. THey have bubblers out east...

And no.. it isn't a "canopy" by any definition I can think of. But the thing on the back of an lmtv might be considered one. But again, not a big deal. They are "truck caps" by all normal convention.

It is a canopy , not ignorant or nonsense .

What is your problem and why do you care what the OP and all the rest of us , except you , call it?

We call it canopy around here. First thing that comes to mind when I hear bed cap is the bed rail caps...

Always called them 'Caps, or Truck Caps' out here. Never heard them called campers or canopies 'til I joined this site. Then again, I've never thought about actually camping in mine. Just lockable, dry storage to transport stuff.
