Yeah alcans are great and they make custom leafs (or used to). Speculation was they used to make the all pro leaf packs. I’m sure the new all pro leaves are just rebranded trail gear leaves which I’ve heard are stiff and hard to break in.

Although my dad broke two Alcan main leafs on our last wheeling trip so there’s that. He’s running OME on the rear and they’re beefy, a little too beefy for the wheeling he does.

I’m running BDS because a local guy is a dealer and I got them cheap and they have a life time no questions asked warranty. They do pretty good, so far. Not that you asked but there you go.

I was way overloaded on my last trip on Dakar with aal. I was leaning towards allpro expedition cause its 800 but if Alcan is 1200.....what's another 1200 to make a 4 link and just be set for life......

All poo ‘expos’ here. Would NOT recommend. Harsh ride even when loaded (and king smoothies albeit). Flattened out reaaall quick and when asked how they sagged so quick I was told ‘sorry, nothing we can do, but you could buy a new set or buy our add a leaf to remedy’. AKA sorry our products suck, but buy more of our said products’.

This may be a dumb question, but if I was feeling super super cheap now since I'd rather 4 Link down the road.... why not just get another Dakar pack and add some leafs to it from my current pack?.... the wear would be different but it would be the cheapest option

Or maybe I should just get air bags. My weight fluctuates a lot from unloaded, to standard Camper shell and dual rear swingout with a 35 to this last camping trip and I couldn't bring everything I wanted.

I’ve done that with my old pickup. They used to call it a bastard pack. Marlin has a whole write up on it. It was mostly a mix of different year packs combined together. Worked great until I replaced them with allpro springs.

I gave my stock leaf pack to a friend and he used some of it to make a bastard pack with his stock leaf pack. It worked well enough, and gave him some lift.

just my opinion, I’m not a happy customer. But there are a lot that are.

Could be a 2nd gen design or the manufacturer cutting corners. IIRC, all pro outsources springs. You may have better luck with 1st gen products, which would be awesome. I just can’t speak to that. Hope you find something that works!

I made a bastard pack for my 1st gen and I helped a few other people do it also
@uphills.... shit umm @El Taco Diablo had one for a wile I believe he had an aal also if i remember correctly
you use a standard pack from a 6 lug first gen and the middle leaf from a 5 lug 1st gen, it works really well actually

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

You are correct... yes, it had a Wheelers 1.5 AAL in it with a 5 lug middle spring too.

I actually still have that leaf pack laying on my sideyard.

You're never going to convince me that a good majority of these fires aren't being set deliberately.

Funny how there were no fires on the 108 corridor, and now all the sudden there are multiple fires.
