F*** me! Did they ask for the chips back?

 

This week was a complete fustercluck. Definitely 4 Mondays (4/10s), and they've got guys in working today. I'd be there, but I've got contractors at the house and waiting on FedEx to show up with the packages that I have to sign for.

 

Customer wanted this gripper cut down. It goes on a multi million dollar printing press from England, it gets epoxied on instead of bolted.

 

Conspiracy; some company bought the patent to this chamfer tool, because it was far superior to anything else out there. Now you can't buy them. Speculation of course.
Name on it is NOBUR

 

What is the SHCS for?

 

Looks more or less like a run-of-the-mill 60* countersink; renewable cutting inserts?

 

No SHCS on there, but a NS 4-100°
I'm uncertain about the best way to sharpen them, no inserts on these particular ones although we have a few of those too.
I'll have to take one apart and examine it some day. I kind of believe they were made in 2 pieces for sharpening purposes.

Looks like Cogsdill still makes the NOBUR line.

Ok, not like the one pictured. But I know M.A. Ford and OSG make straight flute chamfer bits.

 

2nd eyeball de-cataract-ed today. I can see sooo much better now!

 

FedEx delivery done. They almost drove past without stopping because I'd left the door tag on the door yesterday. They hadn't left one any other day this week that they've stopped by, so I didn't even look when I got home yesterday.

 

Yes, today is my 5th Monday in a row...and it so happens to be the most Monday-ist of Mondays.
