I noticed that my 2017 DC LB OR leans about 3/4" on the front driver side. I've watched some You Tube videos where they install a spacer on top of the coil over to level it out. Is this safe or does anybody have a different / better way to fix the "Taco Lean"?

It's a phenomenon that naturally occurrs on all vehicles, not just the Tacoma. People just rarely ever notice. It's just a result of the suspension settling given that there is more weight in that portion of the vehicle most often.

Watched it happen when I jacked up the front of my truck from the center. I realized I had a full tank of gas. As far as a solution, two tanks?

Get an extra large girlfriend to sit in the passenger seat, she can offset the weight of the battery and fuel.

They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. as you can see the LF corner is heavier by a fair amount. This was with a full tank of fuel, no driver and a nearly empty truck (still had car seat and normal day to day stuff in the truck).

A big dog is better, they're always happy to go for a ride, and they don't look as funny with their head stuck out the window.

My fix was going up one circlip setting on the left 5100. 4th on the left and 3rd on the right. Just a bit of anti-Taco Lean with 3/4 tank and me not in the Taco.

    +1 on the big girlfriend.

I would simply do the spacer thing.

Is the battery the single heaviest thing in the LF of the truck? I was thinking of relocating the battery to the bed and run 0 or 00 gauge wires to the engine bay, so that i can lighten the load on the driver's side.

Yes but I doubt moving the battery alone will cure all the taco lean. It's not a bad place to start though.

    Cool stuff
Just Gotta deal with the lean, I’m in the same boat and I would prefer to have the full travel of my shocks rather then adjust for it

The driver is ahead of the CG also. The tank is a big contributor. Checking my notes when installing the suspension, there is a 1/4in difference from 1/4 to a full tank.

Do a European conversion putting the driver on the right side of the vehicle. :)

I would love to know how/where you got access to that scale. Do you own that scale or is at a shop that you go to? I researched scales a little bit one day because I really wanted to get an accurate weight for my vehicle. I am building out a FWC Project M camper and I want to try and control the weight as best I can. The only place around here that I could find that will weigh a vehicle is a gravel pit and I think those scales are only accurate to about 100 pounds or so. I found some four-pad vehicle scales for sale by various vendors but they cost in the neighborhood of $750 to $1000 dollars. I may look at a single-pad scale that can weigh up to 2000 lbs and then use that one wheel at a time to make the same measurement.

Look at any performance shops in your area that also do alignments, they will do corner weighing. If you have coilovers and want to spend the money, you can have them corner balance the vehicle as well.

We used to do this back when I drag raced FWD cars to put more weight up front, nothing like 70% of the vehicle weight going through small slicks at 150mph.
