    Scheduled my 2018 for Sept. 14th. They said it could take all day... Really?? ha I hate my local dealer, but they are located so close to me. I assume all day is worst case as in its been leaking and there is damage to fix. Mine hasn't leaked (knock on wood) so I am hoping it will be done in a few hours time. My appointment is in between my archery hunting PTO weeks so they can't have it for too long!

    I am also having them look at my rear diff for the 1000th time. It was leaking last time I was in and they refused to fix it. I let Toyota Corp know about that. Hoping this time they actually do more than just wiping the gear oil off the pumpkin...

    My 18 had a tiny leak on the rear diff, my dealer took care if it with one ask. If you've been back more than once I'd try a different dealership to see if they can fix it.

    I had to go in to the dealer for a battery replacement under warranty. When I scheduled the appt, the scheduler told me there was a recall for some kind of leak. Nothing else. So I rolled in with my bed rack and rtt on. When I got there, they told me the recall was for the third brake light and they won't be able to work on it with the rack on my truck. Had to reschedule that. At least I got a new battery out of that visit. Had some bad weather soon after so I took it back in without the bed rack. Never had any leaks but I also live in the desert. Took them about 90 minutes.

    Curious if we ever have to change the bulbs if we need a new ring/gasket?

    Just chiming in that I had my light fixed under the bulletin just this morning. I was advised it would take up to two hours, had it back in about 40 minutes and the light now has the bezel just as the other photos show in this thread.

    No damage done and nothing seems out of place in or around the cab/light.

    Yeah, corporate and this dealer have been pretty much useless for my rear diff (howl and leak). Next closest dealer may be better. At this point it has been documented so many times that if something does happen they wouldn't be able to deny knowing about it ha

    Mine was done yesterday, done in under four hours. Like Shaggy135's pic above, there is now a plastic ring around the light. Looks like they redesigned it in order not to leak (hopefully). Mine didn't leak prior to taking in.

    Official word from Toyota Canada;
    We would like to advise you that at this time, there are no outstanding campaigns on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma.

    ok then.

    Got mine done today. Went in for my 55k service and was told about the recall. Gave them the go ahead with the repairs and I was done in 3 hours.

    I have not heard a thing. And, my VIN shows no recalls or campaigns against it. My truck qualifies, just happy that it hasn’t leaked, yet.

    Toyota Canada won’t help me. I guess I’m on my own to fix this. Fuggers!
