Yes, and part of the reason I ordered from Showstoppers originally was because their website indicated "in stock" (which we now know is in error). But honestly, I don't think any vendor really knows when an item is supposed to arrive from overseas due the supply chain/port issues everyone is experiencing because of the pandemic. But I do agree that potential lead times should be disclosed a bit more realistically by vendors (these days especially).

I ordered the TE37XT wheels from another vendor (who I've ordered wheels from for years), and I was originally told it would take ~5 months and they ended up taking around 8 months. My CaliRaised LED sliders were also a couple months behind schedule, and I have a Specialized bike on order that was supposed to be here in May 2021 (and still no ETA on its arrival). I even had my first 2021 Tacoma allocated to me by a friend (internet fleet manager) at a local Toyota dealership in October 2020, and then the truck arrived in December 2020 without any of the changes he had requested through the system (but I was fortunate to find another allocation one month later with the specs I wanted at another dealership).

So I have learned to just be patient when it comes to ordering "out of stock" items... :p

Is this a prophetic post or did you mean October 2020?

Similarly I ordered a stand up paddleboard back in April and was told it would arrive in July. When I contacted them in July to find out an updated status, I was told they didn’t know if/when it would arrive and I should come down to get my deposit refunded. I wasn’t that concerned about the deposit being tied up and a month later they called to let me know it was coming the next week. It’s a tough position to be in for a retailer, you want the sale and you want a happy customer and part of doing that is delivering in a timely manner which is impossible to do and many customers can’t empathize with their position.

Nope, which is why I edited my post to the correct year = 2020. :D

Agreed, and my deposit with Specialized is refundable which is why I haven't had it refunded yet (because I know bikes in general are hard to come by right now due to supply chain/parts shortages).

I'd love a set, but would be totally pissed if I scratched them going off road.

Lace up your jordans and lets go do part of the PCT. We can find some rocks to scratch our wheels on along the way :D
