Trd off road coils are different from sr5 coils. Progressive vs linear. Different part numbers in Toyota parts catalogue too

That's the first I've ever heard that. Do you have the part numbers by chance?

Negative. Went down that rabbit hole and didn’t write anything down. You just gotta look up the numbers on Toyota parts website if you’re curious

And if you poke around Google long enough you’ll probably find it too

They both look to be the same to me, as I thought. I also have the off road coli springs sitting in my garage and there's nothing that looks progressive about them. They look like standard coil springs.

Each trim has different part numbers for left/right, with the base part number being the same for all: 48131 for left and 48132 for right. Additionally, some of the trims have different coils, which you can verify by comparing the last 4 digits of the part numbers. They’re different prices and names/descriptions, but all will fit other trims. I read somewhere about differences between the off road, pro, sr5, sport, and limited. Pro and off road both have unique springs, and the sr5/limited/sport share theirs.

You linked coil spring and shock absorber assemblies (aka coil overs) not coil springs alone. The shock absorbers are definitely different as discussed many times on this forum, but by all accounts the coil springs are all the same. I would be interested to know if that is not the case.

funny how many guys think suspension is covered as a warranty item. i have questioned the sales rep, and his manager, and also the financial manager when purchasing my 2021 sport. the answer i got is, "No. That is a normal wear and tear item." So i did some further checking on the warranties that toyota offers and suspension is not covered at all. only powertrain to drivetrain. it was almost as if toyota knew tacoma consumers would be off roading with these trucks already.

Does anybody know what 3 height settings come on the TRD front lift shocks? I’m thinking I’ll go with these shocks. I’m closing in on 100,000 miles on my stock suspension, so I’d like to get new coil springs as well, and was hoping to get 2” lift coils, but if these TRD shocks don’t have a zero lift setting, I’d have to get shorter springs…

Probably going with the Headstrong 3 leaf AAL, if it is ever restocked… Would the rear TRD shocks be ok with 1.5” to 2” of lift?

One last thing, it would be cool to put red coil springs on the TRD shocks. Anybody know of any red springs that would fit these shocks? Would the TRD Pro coils fit?

    Thanks for any help,
    Nate.
