I was wondering if anyone knew of a strieght studded rear shock for a 98 regular cab 4x4.
I would like to weld an angle with a hole to thru bolt the top of shock to the frame where original shock mount broke.I think this would give better sheer strength than a stud. I can only see collared top and bottom rears on line.
    Thanks ,
    Scott

I took a look , pretty cool mods. At this point I'm looking for a quick fix (-$), can't justify big investment.
Next time I remove the bed and do frame caps. That's if theres a next time.....

Fair enough. I ended up just reinforcing mine with some plate. So far so good!

Yes sir , same here. This is the passenger side rear shock mount that failed . Welded a plate over a whole directly on outside frame 6 months ago. This forward slashed shock mount is ground zero for debris from rear tire and is just a trap for rot to breed. I'm in NJ , they brine the roads when it rains, assholes.p

Yup. Mine was full of mud and rust flakes when I opened it up last fall. Good job Toyota!
