Redarc Elite worked perfect for towing this G16BH. I didn't even feel it back there. :D

Great, heading to Colorado on Sunday from Mass, with our Intech Chase (about 1500# loaded). I think we are all dialed in. Plan on dragging the trailer through most of the RimRocker (skipping the western most section).
    Thanks for the post.

You'll be fine. Are you planning on putting much weight in the bed? Also, keep at least 60% of the weight in front of the trailer axle.

    None so far
When using the studs holding the driver side knee air bag to attach the brake controller, is there any concern that this might compromise the airbag in any way?

The studs behind the dash on my 2021 weren’t available. There was a module mounted vertically to one of them. It may be for the blind spot/rear cross traffic options installed on my truck.

I ended up sticking my Elite on the left side behind the cubby. Tight fit, but gorilla double sided tape should keep it in place pretty well.

Nope, it was much bigger than that. If I think about it, I’ll snap a picture the next time I’m under the dash.

Just like @Bertw192, I got the Meso custom cubby to fit my Tekonsha P3.

Not OEM then. That location is unused except for that module pictured, the ECU for the OEM glass break sensor.

Edit: After installing mine, the left stud has the smart key ECU.

I've kind of given up on that ever happening. I found this Etsy shop that sells STL files, and am planning to have Shapeways print it with a HP MJF using the glass polymer option. As I understand it, this the same printer and method MESO used. Rough math, came out to around $70 for the file and the print.

I know this thread is about brake controllers, which the link below doesn't have any specific models (Tekonsha and the like), but I bet if you contacted him he could come up with something.

I went with Redarc so any empty Toyota blank switch spot is suitable, I just didn't have any spaces. Those STL's you found are a really good option, plenty of print labs available. I do have to say, the Tekonsha with the MESO panel is clean.

Ordered materials today to build a custom bracket for the Redarc module. Going to use those two studs mentioned above and work with the GBS ECU as well.

Main unit mounted on the smart key ECU bracket with fabricated extension. Intended to use rivnuts but there wasn't enough clearance. Not ideal, but ended up using 8-32 screws as standoffs.

Left side switch plate knob. Choose this location as the most visible and easily reached for manual control.

Small amount of webbing removed from the back of the panel to fit the knob.

Unused cubby mounting point that had to be removed to clear the depth of the knob.

Yeah, smart key ecu as it turns out. I wasn't expecting that to be there either. Every picture I had seen there was unused space.

@REDARC_Ryan is testing the Liberty the same as the Elite, 5W to 21W bulb on pin 5 to ground?

You end up going this route? Thinking about doing the same but know nothing about 3D printing.

Thumbs up for Redarc. I have the Elite for towing a 3200 lb Wolf Pup 16TS. There were a couple of empty threaded studs behind the switch panel on my 2020 6MT that worked perfectly with the Redarc mounting kit. And a convenient ground lug on the kick panel side. The Redarc works really well and very easy to adjust on the fly.

And the customer service from Redarc has been fantastic.

Not yet, don't need the extra switch capacity just yet. It's really easy to order something through Shapeways, you just upload the STL file and pick your material.
