Okay, I've seen every single one of those shows.

Lonesome Dove was a pretty good mini-series.
Death Valley Days (the original) was a decent anthology show.

F Troop and Wild Wild West don't count, IMO.
One was a comedy, the other was...I dunno what you'd call it, but not a Western really.

As for the rest, and with the possible exception of Little House...they were all pretty hackneyed.
It was like the same team of writers churning out the same dozen or so plots, with minor variations.
All the cliches were there, used over and over.

Those shows are the reason Westerns almost disappeared from TV for a generation, starting in the late 70s.
    Sorry...:notsure:

I confess to getting hooked on Longmire a few years ago and binging on it.

See that proves my age theory wrong. That's a show that one of the older, now retired dudes really liked. Big fan of Chuck Connors too, I had to Google a bit to recall, but also a Pro Basketball and Baseball player 6'6" height.

I thought it was kind of funny at the end; in their native language and seemed kind of giggling about pulling that off:rofl:

I've only caught parts of a few episodes of series, Yellowstone. Not sure if that's worth of being called a Western. I know my stepdad likes it. Texts me when it's on:rolleyes:

I had the rifleman on the list. I guess he ran out of slots. And yeah, Kung Fu is my favorite. It had an original plot for the same old western stories. A half American, half Chinese Shaolin priest running from a $10,000 bounty. Using martial arts to dodge bullets, catch arrows and stop the bad guys. It was great.

Kung Fu was pretty cool at the time, though the effects look very dated now.
But you gotta admit, it was the same thing every time.
Bad guys doing bad stuff...with some extra assholery thrown in to make you hate them.
So you waited for them to get theirs...which they duly got, and how.

    Mrs Gritto still watches Rawhide.
    Cuz Clint.

Well, Yellowstone and Longmire don’t really fit because they are modern era. Lonesome Dove was a mini-series and in a class by itself. If anything should change, take off F Troop and add The Rifleman. Just my opinion.

Dammit!!! I dropped None of the above, Laramie and Cheyenne. I dropped the last two due to zero votes at the time of my reorganizationing attempts.
