Powdercoated wheels

Yea, I searched and found a little info, but not enough for my liking. So, sorry for another thread about a question that's already been asked...

I'm thinkin about powdercoating my wheels and was wondering what kind of luck you guys have had with them. I've called around and have been priced anywhere from $40/wheel to about $500 total. My main concern chipping. I don't do a lot of hardcore off-roading, so I'm not worried about them bein bashed against rocks or anything. I mainly use my truck to get to my huntin/fishin spots.

After all the salt we've had on the roads from the abnormal amounts of snow we've had, I decided I'm tired of havin to polish them to keep them from pitting so easily. Plus...I just want black wheels, but don't want to have to sell mine and buy others. What do you guys clean them with? Just a rag and some soap?

 

With the different options that there are to paint wheels, powdwer coating will be one of the best, if not the best way to paint them and protect against chips.

My question is where did you find a place that'll do them for $40/wheel! That's an excellent price and I'd hop on it (assuming they're legit).

 

Thanks for the info. My 2 options are either powdercoating or getting them dipped. I can do that for about $300, and this guy will warranty his work for like 10 years. All the places that powdercoat won't guarantee them at all.

There are actually a couple of places around here that will do them for $40/wheel. I was really surprised.

 

powder coat em for 40 a wheel. if one chips then powdercoat it again for 40, also if you're not wheeling just don't hit the curb while parking

 

If you want to do it right then have them media blasted, primed, and then powder coated. That will run you about 75 wheel. Everyone that charges 40 a wheel is most likely just blasting and powder coating.
