    Yeah l wasn't sure if he had some sort of a mechanical error or just flat ran out of power on the way up.

    The 3rd gen Tacoma's need 4600 rpm to reach max torque. You can't creep up anything with a manual transmission like that. Even 2nd gens and most other modern trucks need around 3500 rpm. Compared to old school trucks that would reach max torque at 2000-2500 rpm. This is where an automatic is vastly superior. You're going to have to hit it with some speed and keep engine speed up.

    Lo range might be needed, but be careful of making any turns while engaged.

    Random memory of the Toyota truck that changed my opinion of them. 1986 SR5 x-tra cab, 22RE manual. My friend purchased it new. He always ran it like he stole it. The little engine that could. No lack of power next to redline. May very well have been the pinnacle of IFS Toyota.:notsure:
