Hello people. Looking for a work around or a answer to why I can't listen to music via USB cord. I have some flac files songs that play on other systems no problem but not in my truck when using USB. Plays through Bluetooth no problem but not USB. Own a 17 Sport with Premium HU non jbl, and using a Huawei p30 phone. Cheers

Not familiar with Huawei but my Samsung won't share data unless you give it permission and it does that with every new device you plug it into

Big fan of the Red Wings also.
The only thing that popping up on the phone, after plugging it into truck is....
    Transfer photos
    Transfer files
    Charging only
Im guessing it being a non apple product is the hidden issue here.

My guess is that the factory radio won't recognize hi-res FLAC files via USB, just lo-res MP3, WMA, and AAC. With bluetooth the file type doesn't matter since it's gonna get compressed anyway.

You could test this, if you were so inclined, by copying an MP3 file onto the phone and seeing if it would play.

    Sweet!

I guess, to be fair, I've never attempted playing music using the cable since there's an Aux port and Bluetooth options that were both just easier. Plus the USB port does a terrible job at charging. You're better off using the wireless charger, letting the phone cool when it gets too hot, and then going again.

I'll give that a try. Maybe I'll try ALAC files from an old iTouch I have laying around. Hard wire flac on my 22 Civic sound so much better than Bluetooth

My 22 Civic allows me and the sound is way better than Bluetooth. I've never tried the charger pad yet. Maybe I should

My sound is pretty good with Bluetooth. And connecting is so seem less. At first I thought it was quiet but after making sure the volume was all the way up on my phone the truck volume seemed to work at the same level as the radio. I've never tried the aux cord though. I also always use Bluetooth earbuds as well.

The charger pad is pretty good. But it creates a lot of heat because it has no way to dissipate it. So, especially on hot days, I find I usually have to give it a break. But, until it gets hot, the wireless charger gives my phone an estimated charge time of 3 hours from nearly empty while plugging it in with the USB to the built in USB port says 7+ so it really isn't designed for charging. If I really need a charge I use a car charger/adapter. But I'm always using Bluetooth for sound.
