The envelope probably didn't attract them, it was more than likely the other stuff they took. Don't leave stuff in your vehicle, what looks like Crap to us, is an attraction to thieves.
As mentioned above- thieves go to nice hoods, for nice things. and for complacent folks. We've had a rash of these, and every time it's the residents going on and on about what a nice neighborhood it is.
In addition to locking the truck, and adding motion lights, I'd suggest cameras. As good and cheap as they are, there's really no excuse not to.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I forgot to mention a laser trip. I have these running my perimeter, both ground. And on the inside of my fence.
You jump my fence I know, you come another 40’, I know you have advanced.
By this time all my lights have come on and your being recorded. I also have remote cameras, on the street, facing both ways. That way I got your tag as well!!

By this time I am ready and waiting. Will I come outside to meet you no, if you come to my house I will greet you with a parting gift :)

There is no better defense than Recon.

Guys will drive through a neighborhood and hit a bunch of cars in one night
Bought a console vault off member here
Caught a guy on my security cam going in my truck at 4 in the morn
Saw the locked console and moved on
Sucks but there is always someone out there trying to make some quick cash

"Smelled like Cologne, took your Nikes, and a sweatshirt" That sounds like a homeless person reminds me when my truck was broken into they even took my tooth brush so I know they at least cared about their dental hygiene lol....

I had my 1st gen broken into twice. Once at a hotel in Dayton Ohio, they smashed out the extra cab window, stole my stereo, CDs, and my ashtray full of change. 2nd time they smashed out my driverside window when the truck was in a parking lot across from my cities police station, took my stereo, CDs, electric tire inflator and some random crap out of my glove box. I have since put a scion TC stereo in it and try not to leave it parked unattended for a long time.

Agreed, no one blames the victim when their cats get stolen, there's no excuse for thieves....

Back to the original question, I’m with whoever said to just buy a different set of wheel locks. You can get them on Amazon and prime them to your house.

I actually have the wrong color lugs (in my opinion) on my truck right now because they’re the only locking set my wheel shop had that would fit these wheels. I’ll be putting black lugs on once I get a black set of locking lugs. Right now I’m putting up with silver.

I was in my house one night and my wife came home. Asked why I left my dart league bag in the back yard. She must have came home and they took off dropping it. The only thing in there of value was my leatherman. I actually leave mine unlocked all the time. There’s nothing of value and I’ve had my windows smashed numerous times for them to get nothing.

I’d rather not have to deal with busted glass and insurance and rain messing shit up. If they want to steal my flashlight and some chewing gum then it’s a small price to pay for not having busted windows.

Same, I don't leave hardly anything, not even a garage door remote, in my vehicle. All they'll get from me is the owners manual and a roll of toilet paper because, you never know.

Your Toyota wasn't robbed, it was burglarized there's a difference.
