Congrats! This is good info. If it’s all moving to MX, it hasn’t happened yet. I can live with that! :)

I’m partly excited because I can stop wondering if I’ll ever get one. That’s relief on it’s own!

My '21 TRD-OR-4X4 with options, tag shows Mex/CA. Built 7/22, caught allotment 6/1, to dealer 8/12. I was able to add more options before it went to production. No complaints on QC, every panel straight, excellent build.
Inside, the same, nothing amiss. See tag below, Mexico.

@Builder1 Mine was built 2 weeks after yours, also in Baja. What part of the country are you in?

MAD777 ..... Close to Knoxville, TN. We live in a little country town, about 18 miles from Knoxville. Top line on tag says Baja, bottom line is Mexico.

I just wonder about these places for mfg, guys are saying San Antonio, TX also. Sales rep said it was shipped rail car from Mexico. It has port options, so dunno where that is.
When this was available, I did not ask for any deals, traded the '18 4Runner with 32K on the odo. Dealer gave us $36584.00 for it, trade.
We paid $36443.00 for it, 4/18, it was 4WD, new condition always garaged.

Do you have concerns about it being built in Mexico?

I originally ordered a DCSB OR in Army green from one dealership and it was allocated on 7/22, but that dealership still doesn’t know anything about it’s build or arrival. I since found a dealership that had allocated a DCSB Sport in silver that had the same options I wanted in the other, and it’s scheduled to be build in the next week or two. Week 35 if you go by the temporary VIN and that it’s accurate. So hopefully I’ll have one of them by the end of September

The VIN starts with a 3 therefor it was built in Mexico. Personally, I wouldn't sweat a bit over whether mine started with a 3 or a 5. Port options (at least for US bound vehicles) are installed in one of a couple ports within the US. Port options are basically anything you can add on the build site after choosing Grade, Cab/bed and drive train i.e: mud flaps, bed lights, floor liners, etc. Factories just build the truck and ports add accessories.

Do you have concerns about it being built in Mexico? I did think about that. :). None.

I have had many new 4R's from Japan, this Taco is on par with them, 6 since 2008. I checked it over like a magnifying glass, and if any issues,
I would not have taken it. Wife and I have built a few houses in south Florida, and one here in TN. Especially in Florida, if we and/or builders were
concerned about quality and Latin/Mexican guys, nothing would be built. I have had work done here in TN by Caucasion guys like me, and excellent results.

I am confused or misinterpreting that. You're saying you don't sweat the quality of vehicles built in Mexico but if people were concerned about the quality of buildings built by them in Florida, nothing would be built?

Understand this. If a homeowner or someone building a new home, if they did not want Mexican or people of color working on their property, it would be hard times finding someone you like to do your work. Make sense ?

In Florida, we have had white, black, brown, come to our property and do great work. If you look at the Tacoma/Tundra assembly lines, there are employees from everywhere. My wife and I don't see color or nationality when hiring work to be done.

10-4! We're on the same page. To me, the wording sounded like folks were settling.

I grew up in the carpet producing capitol of the world (during the housing boom no less) and worked in the service industry for over a decade. Many of the hardest working folks I knew are Hispanic.

I wasn’t meaning in that aspect. Just wasn’t sure if it was the first vehicle purchased that was built in a Mexico plant. My 2017 Jetta I purchased was made in Mexico and the quality was great as well. I was more intrigued if it was just because production moved down there and with Covid and everything some stuff was already botched like the off road stickers being thrown on different trims. I think Quality Control is or should still be pretty good for Toyota standards but then again if too many workers go out or production was to shut down or slow down then you usually have the salary and supervisors out there tryin to build and that’s a whole different world. I’ve been to a few manufacturers that do that and it’s hilarious how they try and supervise a crew and yet they have no idea what’s going on or how to work on anything.
