Tailgate “tacoma” letters

Just picked up my first tacoma a month ago and wanted to add inserts to the tailgate letters. Seems to be a 1,000 different options online. What is the best option out there? Are the OEM Toyota worth the $?

 

Not worth the extra coin imo.

 

Three years on my non oem and still like new. Let me see if I can find the brand.

I think I got a set off Amazon and they held up great for weather and washes for over a year and then I traded in the truck and ordered a new set. Waiting for them to come in. There’s cheaper options as well but these has pretty good reviews.

I bought these ones because they’re plastic and not metal. Just a personal choice because I live where it snows and didn’t want them to rust. No issues with mine but I’ve only owned my truck since JUN

 

I just got the Eyecatcher Pro letters. Not sure if the Pro are that big of an upgrade over the standard ones, $30 more but I wanted the American flag design.

 

I got mine on Amazon, do not recall the exact brand. But they are raised plastic type. I then wrapped them with 3m retroreflective vinyl/tape, so black during the day and bright at night, extra points for blinding people with their highs on.

 

Eye Catcher of Amazon is what I used. 3 years zero issues.

 

Second that. I bought ebay letters for, I dunno not much ($30 maybe?) 3D Satin black, looks like it should have came that way from the factory, been through 3 winters, car washes, etc. No problems

 

Offer this guy $30.00 as a Best Offer an you are good to go. Just put mine in and for $30,00 why not just go OEM.

I 2nd these. They are what I have, easy to line up and stick on as one piece

 

Imo, these trucks, or any look stupid with their name plastered everywhere on them. I've seen all colors from chrome letters to white and black. I prefer to see a clean vehicle not cluttered with a bunch of graphics.

 

I second zoo truck.
At purchase time I asked the dealer to take off all of the "frufru," (decals and plastic badging). IMO the truck looks better.
Anyone who wants to know if I am somehow ashamed of the make can ask me and find out.

 

Do you have daylight photos with the reflection tape on?

 

I bought the eyecatcher pro letters of Amazon as well because I wanted the Mono black flag. Really like the depth and little bit of extra pop the pro version adds. They have more a raised 3D effect and imo look amazing.

 

Do these hold up in the weather and elements? I’m concerned for the stickers falling off

 

Yes, I do have one.
It is pretty much just black during the day time, since it is "retroreflective" which will reflect light straight back to the source, and that would be the sun during daytime. The only time you can tell it is a retroreflective tape during the day is if you happen to have your headlights on.

 

I also got the Eyecatcher ones from Amazon and they look great and the quality seems really good so far.

Tufskinz, had them on since March of 17, looks new.

 

Its like da, What type of truck are you driving? What really cracks me up is some of these guys have large black letters saying tacoma stuck across the top of their windshields. Thought that crap disappeared in the 70's.
