    y’all work too hard, I just unbolted those things and left them off. Cinched up the tire hoist nice and tight and it hasn’t moved since I put the 33 under there.

    Gettin those bolts from underneath seemed like a lot more work than I wanted to deal with without a ratcheting wrench

    Thanks guys. I'll do that today and take her for a spin. Ben, I use the standard NGK. Is 25k excessive? I figure why not since they are so cheap

    I don’t think the TRail gear adaptors were ever on back order. Which is what I went with. But the marlin crawler ones are still out of stock yes, with “no timeline on when they will be back”

    Continuing to refresh parts, got some new mudflaps and parking brake lever.

    Rigged up a GoPro yesterday help diagnose some rear end suspension noises. The video wasn't all that helpful, but I read 40 pages of the Dakar Squeaks thread and I think it's coming from the front rubber bushing, it's sliding out of the metal sleeve on the passenger side and the driver side looks like it's cracking / dry rotting. Hoping a new front bushing gets rid of that metal on metal sound you hear at the end of the video.

    Now that I think about to you could build a completely new 1st gen Tacoma, you could likely buy all the parts new minus the cab itself....

    That’s a very valid point. I did use ratcheting wrenches on those. Sometimes I feel like those things are a cheat code. Lol

    I started the sound deadening project last night and made good progress. I’ll be installing some mass loaded vinyl on the floor in addition to the Killmat and closed cell foam. Hoping it makes the tuck a lot quieter. Also doubling up the killmat on the back of the cab.

    Don't have a slide hammer, and the seal won't budge with a standard seal puller.

    Edit; disregard...bitch came out finally

    You can see it leaking clear; I just topped it off :burp:

    I've got a seal driver/kit I borrowed from my friend.

    Been watching Timmy's video on the need for a 5.5mm seating depth.

    I'll upload a video shortly of the unique design of my ext cv axle.

    Not fond of the boot at all as it tore some many thousands of miles ago.

    @Speedytech7
    @JKO1998

    I know we touched on those CV axles I bought from O'Reilly's, and the way they work.

    Had a chance to pull it off as I needed to replace my CV axle seal.

    Boot has been long torn, but check this out -

    https://youtu.be/oKcnKuKpPOg

    The assembly itself literally extends and collapses, allowing that 'travel'. Also, the splines are like new on both ends given I've applied the skinny pedal quite a bit more than I care to admit :anonymous:

    They're a cheaper way to get the same action the German joints on tundras and sequoias have without advanced machining. I like it, needs better boots me thinks though

    I really did question them, considering I only saw a few guys on IG mention using them.

    Had not seen anyone else post about them on any forums.

    When I first brought them home, I was questioning the boot's integrity as it felt more 'plastic' and 'rigid' than the OEM cv axle boots -

    I'll have to measure the shaft diameter, and see what I can find as far as a quality, flexible boot replacement.

    @turbodb what do you think?

    Go on Kartek and try to find a boot similar in dimensions. You can fudge a bit larger or smaller usually

    I'd hate to do them on a rear end though; I've seen horror stories :eek:

    Wow, that's a ton of boot options.

    I'll need to measure things out and figure out what one I need; I'll replace the cv axle first though as they have lifetime warranty but I'm thinking I'll replace the boots on the new cv axles I receive.
