    Oh shit!

I don't even run a front sway bar; but yeah that grease is all over.

    Pressure washer time!

Is it pretty easy swapping a cv axle out for you guys?

Lane is a damn beast. I don't think I would try that even if my rig was capable. I was literally at the edge of my seat. That hill is A LOT steeper looking in person.

Oh yeah, it did.. Luckily the cv joint was still intact and I had duct tape to seal it temporarily. Watching Maguyver paid off! The drive home was fine. Only today I was glad driving in traffic. Slow and steady! :turtleride:

Nowhere near as bad as @Impoy47 but I did have diff fluid all over from my damn cv axle seal.

Finally had a chance to work on it -

CV axle seal pulled, you can see the clear fluid dripping -

And the CV axle itself -

Last but not least, the mangled cv axle seal after all said and done -

Yes my boots are torn, and they have been for many thousands of miles but they're still good :anonymous:

Good that's all it damaged! while you're at it, might as well replace the boots! I checked at autozone and O'Reilly. No luck for boot kit. Time to go to dealership. Heavy duty swaybar links on order. And probably get a spare now to get me by.

I've got 3 OEM spare CV axles lol I'll just pull these and replace them as they're lifetime warranty.

With that said, I will reboot the new replacement set with quality boots.

They're 'extended' versions offered for 1st Gen Tacoma's/3rd Gen 4Runner's.

    How's your fix going?

And I've got a question; why run a sway bar at all? You limit articulation up front by so much. I deleted my sway bar instantly on both the 4Runner and Tacoma.

Waiting on parts and axel shaft spares.
As far as sway bar, you're right. would love to do a quick disconnect for the sway bar or completely disconnect it, specially with the front lockers. Having those front on is great when you need it but man are they powerful. Feels like something is gonna give sooner or later. What I'm dealing with this 3rd gen and probably the newer models the more electrical perks they put on. So if you go way beyond the alignment zone it throws of the zero calibration for VSC and all these stupid fault codes and all these warning lights would pop up. Either I bring it to the dealership and cost me an arm and a leg for them to just clear it or a shop I could trust that would simply clear it for me but no luck with that yet.. I'm hoping to find a 4x4 shop nearby.. I think I found the right OBD2 Scanner to clear all that tho.

That's right I remember you were telling me about all that!

Over here our older vehicles were just bolted together, window stickers inscribed in stone, and we roll down our windows manually
