I got this harness from my Baja lights it has a 30a fuse, should I take it off and put it in my fuse box or leave it?

You can leave the inline fuse in place just so you keep it in tact if you ever want to switch up your set up.

Make sure your fuse panel is the same 30a though.

    It's overkill but doesn't hurt

Quick question for those of you who have circuit breakers, do they rattle? I just received one, but it sounds like there's some loose hardware in it and it's riveted so I'm not doing any surgery on it. Probably a stupid question, but I've never dealt with a circuit breaker before. Another thing, I was wondering if having a circuit breaker really accomplishes anything when every circuit is fused and the main power line is less than a foot long. Wouldn't the fuses blow, or even if there was some sort of short on the main power wire, couldn't it happen just as easily if the circuit breaker was mounted right next to the fuse block? It's not like there's a long run of wire after the breaker, maybe 2" max. I know circuit breakers are popular with a lot of you guys, but maybe it just doesn't make sense in my situation.

It's the bussman 120A breaker for my 12 circuits blue sea fuse block. I would think they're not supposed to rattle, but I've heard of weirder things. I think I'll be sending it back.

? Are you leaving all the relays as 40 amp?
And I’m assuming all the wires are 10 gauge for 30 amp fuses?

False alarm, turns out I'm just stupid. It was the lock rings on the terminals :anonymous:. Still don't know if I really need the breaker given my setup.

The breaker is also for the panel itself, not just the main feed cable. It’s not at all uncommon to have enough high amp fuses to surpass the rating of the panel. 120A is only 6 at 20A or 4 at 30A. You’re supposed to know not to turn every single accessory on at the same time but if you do the breaker pops instead of your main feed or the internal panel busses. Replace the breaker and definitely use one. If you actually need more than 120A at once then a whole different set up is in order.

Yes leave all the relays 40 amp. Change the fuses according to your lighting, this was when I first received the unit and they fill all the slots with 30amp fuses from the factory. Not sure about the gauge wiring but I believe they said each terminal is rated for 30 amps .

Bumping this cuz I'm finally getting it hooked up over long weekend. If I read the message a above right it's battery to breaker to relay to panel.

But the pic shows the breaker running straight to the panel. Maybe I'm missing something?

    Thanks!

If you use a high amp relay to power the panel it’s:
    Battery > Breaker > High Amp Relay > Panel[fuses > 30-40A relays] > Accessories
If you just have a panel:
    Battery > Breaker > Panel[fuses > 30-40A relays] > Accessories

Got this all finished up recently. 2nd breaker feeds power to the bed with my on board air setup.

I would agree with that but it doesn't appear to be wired like that in the pics

It looks like the first breaker supplies the high amp relay which in turn supplies both the primary panel and the 40A breaker which powers the other circuits. Basically what I posted above with an additional 40A breaker. From what I can see it looks ok.
