There's a TSB for this. From memory the hubs on the axles were machined incorrectly and leaves a hair of movement when the drums are where they belong. There was a thread around here at some point. Folks were getting their axles replaced. Diagnosis was simple measurement.

Yeah I think Toyota is kind of lacking in Customer service. I went to my local dealership to buy all weather mats for my DC Tacoma and they gave me AC Tacoma floor mats. The rear one fit horribly. I contacted the dealership and they said that’s what Toyota gave us. There’s nothing they could do about it.

Guess you never owned a rear disk truck they are problematic. Two of my older trucks never had rear brakes replaced both were around 300K

That might sound like a standard service writer answer but it comes from someone who started in Toyota parts back in 1985 and was a Toyota parts manager by 1987. We do not stock drums for ANY Toyota vehicle. They eventually wear out but generally do not fail. They do so little of the braking they often last about 4-5 times longer than rotors.
There used to be a TSB about a rear vibration a few years ago that started out with the need to properly torque the lug nuts but was eventually determined to be caused by a bad batch of rear axles where the flanges were not true. That's why it never became an actual warranty campaign...it was from one bad batch of axles. The fix for those few affected vehicles was new rear axle shafts. We sold 2-3 sets total here. If the OP's issue is happening to several other vehicles we have not seen it yet here in Michigan. This comes from the guy that manages the parts inventory.....

I've had 3 Tacomas with literally no brake issues. Or any other for that matter. Then I bought a 21 TRD Sport, which, other than the added tech is exactly the same truck as my 2015. I traded it with 120,000 miles and only put a battery, tires and front pads on it. Right off the lot the 2021's right front rotor was bad ...real bad. They replaced it. With less than 3000 miles the back drums started going out of round and, after waiting 9 weeks for them to come in they replaced them both and "resurfaced" the shoes. Then, about another 2000 miles the drums started going again. They supposedly checked everything and it was " within specs". The factory rep drove it 10 miles and declared it "normal". Then they said Toyota doesn't replace brake parts and wouldn't fix it This is after they already replaced 3 out of 4 of them. I'm at 20,000 miles and want it fixed while under warranty. Damn frustrating. Also have a rear vibration around 45 and 55 which they also check over and called normal because of the TRD suspension. Unless I can get this truck remedied it's my last Toyota.

What you mean 1 or 2 instances of a problem doesn't mean the whole of Toyota's quality is going to shit? No way! Blasphemy!

That sounds like a single person issue and not "Toyota lacking in customer service"
