Noice! Cool to see both after hearing you talk about them.

Finally got around to washing all the trail dust off my taco. Spent way too much time in this heat. On the plus side truck is clean and I discovered that the stock skid plate is doing its job. 94F687CF-19D3-4FEC-89FF-7F0193A5F4C1.jpg623BFA67-0545-449D-BC6E-412C05C4749D.jpg

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
Damn. I forgot to take off my spare and also check the skid plate.

On another note, I'm gonna buy one of those undercarriage pressure washers. Let y'all know how well it works.

Looks like plenty of sawtooth siping. I'm looking forward to hearing how they work!

I think that's just the nature of a good winter tire. I think they hold up pretty decent if you only use them in the cold, though.

Taking off the spare after an off-road trip is a great idea! I started doing this after I realized how much crap was getting lodged up there.

I'm curious how well that pressure washer attachment works. I might have to invest in one.

Another suggestion is to get a set of ramps, or even 2 sets, to make it easier to reach underneath.

    Edit: like these:

Another option for pressure washing the undercarriage is this one, I have it and it works well https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07RZYSL1Q?ie=UTF8

I have 4 of those ramps. Then I just drive up on all 4 to do fluid film / woolwax

I just bought the ryobi one. Worked pretty well, probably would have been better if I could have washed my truck right after the trip.
I had lots of caked on dirt that stuck to the rust coating I had sprayed on. 40 deg nozzle was the weapon of choice for that.

I highly recommend dropping the spare at least once a year. My stock tires are just about done and it was almost shocking to compare them to the spare. Plus it was a reminder that I need to order another tire for the spare wheel since I will be going up one size.

I also recommend pulling out the stock jack and making sure everything is in order at the same time. Better to discover that the stock jack doesn’t have enough to throw to raise a lifted truck in the driveway than on the side of the road.

Ha. I miss my wife’s old Lease vehicle. I didn’t care if it ever got washed or waxed.

Now we have the new 4Runner in white! We just got back from our 2,000 mile road trip. I’m doing tar removal and trying to remove every bug splattered and baked in the sun for 5 days.

Oh, did I mention when I got back from the Pipeline I parked my truck and emptied it. That pipeline mud was rock solid. I left a sprinkler under it for 2 hours yesterday to soften up some of that crap!

    2 vehicles washed and waxed!
Those Blackout Badges catch all the bugs! Thank you Mr Clean magic erasers.

Just starting out, give me time
Anybody near La Crosse area looking to sell a pop up camper or something of the sort. Looking for something the Tacoma can pull and we could live in for a weekend out. Wanting something under 5k, any recommendations?
    Thanks

Hey all good to see everyone still hanging out and survived the summer. Now that I’m Tacomaless I’ve been playing with the wife’s T4R here and there.
Started with the front TRD skid plate. Thought it looked stupid on a stock machine so put a lift on. Looked better but then needed to fill the wheel wells more. So tires it is.
Being a proud American I had to get the flag decals. Then the wife noticed a small door ding from some Richard head that don’t care. I said Rock Sliders help prevent that. She asked where do you get those and I said there is a place in WI. that makes them. 4X Innovations. A few days later there were two boxes in the garage when I got home and a wife with a shit eating grin on her face when I got in the house. Coated and installed. That’s where I’m at for now.

    Stay well

I've witnessed 3 people whip open their car door with out care into my sliders. Nice dent in the door and hardly even a mark in the paint on the sliders. I don't even feel bad for people like that.

Back when I still had my Honda passport I had an old guy in the grocery store parking lot open his door, hit my vehicle, and then proceed to put all his body weight on the door to help himself get out. I was literally speechless
