    So... On the continuing saga of getting my son's T4R smogged.

    We have now been to 2 mechanics, and 2 smog shops (3 smog attempts)

    Last smog shop said to try a new cat converter.

    We ordered a new Cat from Summit. Checked, double checked, and triple checked that it is the correct Cat for his truck and the CARB Executive Order number does include his Make, Model, Year, and engine code.

    Take the truck to have the cat replaced... first thing the guy does is call us out into the shop to show us something.

    The cat on the truck has OBVIOUSLY been replaced by a previous owner. The replacement was done shoddy, the cat converter on there was obviously not stock.

    Turns out, the cat converter that was on the truck was also slightly clogged.

    Now tell me how 2 muther fucking smog shops and 2 mechanics never saw that this cat was obviously not the right one and was tampered with. The first smog shop should have failed visual inspection and they should have failed it due to the cat converter. That would have saved us the same amount that we now spent on trips to the mechanic and additional smog tests.

    I can't believe my dumb ass never looked at the cat. I would have known immediately it was tampered with. But I guess I had faith that ass holes that call themselves mechanics would have said something about something so obvious.
