I went with the morimoto mini h1 from the retrofitsource. They work great and install was pretty easy. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow.

I went with these. The bulbs I got are the 5000K. Shroud is the mini gatling gun. And you will need a H4 bi-xenon wire harness. You select these from the drop down menus just above the "add to cart" button.

There is an online write-up for the 01-04 Tacoma and I posted the link on another thread called HID Lighting...What to buy???

orieo, any reason you went with the mini H1's vs the D2S bulbs?

also did you go with the mini's for the easy mounting vs the FX-R's?

i'm waiting to hear back from Nate/Matt but I might go with the FX-R's or the D2S if the bulbs are better than H1's

No real reason why I chose the mini h1's

Yes I picked them for the easy mounting.

The Mini D2S isn't the best projector out there, but it is by far the easiest. They are also a major improvement over the stock halogens.

    anything is an improvement

i'm going with the mini d2s (pics on the TRS site look plent good to me) and i'll upgrade to the phillips bulbs

not having to chop up my lights (and risk screwing them up) is the reasong i'll go mini d2s vs the FX-R's

    thinking about the apollo shields

orieo, you have the gatling gun shields?

FX-R (Apollo bezel) from TRS. I figured if i'm going through the trouble I should put in the best bi-xenon (but more importantly, the best crystal) I could afford. Surprisingly the bezel required a lot more trimming than one would expect from a "kit".
