NEED HELP TO INDENTIFY WIRE/WIRES

I desperately need your help I tried everything. I went to the dealership trying to get brake wiring diagram. No luck. I have 2021 Tacoma I am trying to install 3rd Brake light Flash Strobe Controller. I know some people might think it useless feature. Module has 2 wires + and - IN and 2 wires + and - OUT. So I need to find a wire for a 3rd brake light, and I think I found it. But I am not sure. So I was really hoping someone can help or maybe done it before. If you can help I would really appreciated help. I attached the wires. Thank you in a advance. Eugene.

 

It looks like that the box is installed between the brake light wiring.
You’ll cut the wires and splice in the box.

The IN side is the side that comes from the truck.
The OUT side goes to the brake light.

Start with the in wires.

The Violet wire pictured should be the +/Power for the brake light.
This would connect to the Red wire from the truck to Power + IN.


The White/Black stripe should be the - Ground for the light.
This would go to the - IN from the truck.

Now you should only have 2 wires left, The OUT wires.

Red from the box to the Violet that goes to the light.
The black would go to the White w/Black stripe going to the light.


Reds goes to Violet
Black goes to White/ with Black stripe

TnShooter thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it what you wrote. It makes a perfect sense because if you can see in the pictures that's the wires, I cut the first time but then at the last minute I panicked and seal the wires. Thinking what if I cut the wrong wires. So, I decided to confirm with someone who knows. If you, can you please look at the pictures for the last time and just confirm

what I wrote is correct. And thank you again for writing and confirming.

Caribe one question I like how you illustrate the flashing strobe module, by connecting two negative/ground wires cable together. Technically you don't need connecting two black wires from both ends. You can connect two ground wires cable together and connect them to the white/ground cable coming from the car using T clamp?

Thank you I always tried to avoid wires. They always scared me. But thank you to the forums and people who are willing to help.

 

You could, buy I avoid cutting into the harness with them T-taps. There are a few bolts to the frame behind the Driver's kick panel.

 

That controller says LED. Is the Tacoma 3rd brake light LED or incandescent?

 

I believe its LED on the new tacomas

It has 2 flashing patterns
1 if brake hard and fast it will flash rapidly I think twice and then steady 4 times and then steady solid. Let me know if you have any questions
