Love this stuff. $20 for a 2.75”x60” roll. I used it on my last bike and now again on the Pivot. Invisiwrap and the custom films are the way to go if you have the patience to do it properly. This stuff goes on easily wherever the problem spots are (downtube, toptube, chainstays, etc)

Side note: learning clipless has ruined my paint :(

@neatoneto I road my Salsa Cutthroat, has Teravail Sparwoods sized 29x2.2. Low tread, but a skinnier tier would have been nice.

I hear 40mm-ish tires are best for most Gravel bikes. Obviously depends on what you're doing. The Cutthroat is certainly more bikepacking orientated which justifies the 2.2's

@levie125 - Central New Mexico - Albuquerque and East Mountains - my home! Great place to ride all bikes, year round.

@neatoneto yep, I’ve had the Cutt on MTB trails, nothing super hard, but fun to ride on those. Pushing the limits a bit though. The 40-42mm tires are exactly what I have in mind for a second set. I’ve gone on two longer rides now with it, 70 and 50, in thought of getting ready for a 2day, 180 mile trip in October. I don’t know if I’ll be able to swing a second wheel set by then, so may be in with the 2.2s. But I’ll be by myself and just cruising and enjoying the beauty of New Mexico, so won’t have to push to get anywhere. I’d love to be able to do 2-3 trips a year in the summer/fall with this bike.

Now it’s just finding that sweet spot of air pressure with the 2.2s for a ride like that. I’m new to tubeless, so seeing what works best for comfort and rolling. Yesterday I was at 30psi F/R. Need to see what is out there to read on bike packing pressure.

Those are great trails! My buddies live right off them, so ride them often from their house. Also, Placitas area is a great place to ride as well, if you are ever back in the area, just north of the Foothill trails. Plus the east mountain area trails!

Just trying to spread the word...I am selling my 2021 Specialized Epic Evo Pro - Size Large. Here is a link if you or anyone you know is in the market for this very-hard-to-find bike.

2020 Trek Slash 9.8 size L. Throwing this out there if you know someone who’s interested. Specs and upgrades are in the link. Would consider trades for an aggressive/enduro geo hardtail + cash. Awesome bike, just been a shit show summer and it’s not being ridden. Shame to let it just sit here and collect dust.

    not enough.
That's a great idea. I, fortunately (?) or unfortunately (?), have the patience to apply ridewrap on my bikes. And then I beef it up with other thick tape in problem areas. :)

I need to do this on my bikes. I like the $20 expense - does it come off easily? I’m thinking this may be the way to go for a temporary protection until I can get the ride wrap. I’d like to do this on 2 of 3 bikes ASAP and then come back in the winter with the Ride Wrap. I tell you - bikes are just like the trucks - buy one and then you have a list a mile long of things you want to buy

    Thanks for sharing!

I now have 3 mountain bikes. I found a Pivot Trail 429 Enduro build on Saturday and bought it. After demoing the Pivot last week, I knew it was the short-travel trail bike for me. The Epic Evo is awesome and has almost the exact geometry as the T429, but suspension is what I was missing. I weigh around 200 lbs and the 120mm 34 fork was not feeling the best for me. And honestly, I was probably riding the Epic Evo on stuff it really had no business being on. Anyway, I feel like the T429 checks every box for me and my riding style/trail preference...And the 140mm 36 fork will handle 98% of my day-to-day rides. The Epic Evo is practically new and in perfect shape. There's no need to hold on to it when I will rarely ride it.

Thanks! Odd that Evo isn't even 130mm, my Marz 36 is 170.
Lots of demand for Large (me = S2, small/med). GLWS!!

First time in a while that I have been out on my ss. Saw hundreds of these caterpillars today. I couldn’t believe how many there were.

did a 2 hour ride on saturday. was super hot and slow going. rode uphill for an hour an a half, an hour on roads/gravel, 30 min on trails, to ride downhill for 30 minutes. i was beat. gotta get back to doing super long all day rides.

this also makes it my 3rd ride on the same downhill trail in the last week. definitely getting a feel for the trail more and getting faster. still have some doubles im not clearing, but headed to steamboat this weekend for a day at the bike park. maybe some park jump lines will be what i need to relearn some jumps.

speaking of which, anyone know of any good trails around steamboat? should i just subscribe to trail forks to find trails?
