We went up late, so Shaun couldn’t get it in the dark, and coming down, we kinda forgot about it. It’s pretty tame. There’s definitely worse on that trail.

 

There’s 3 separate trails that access this ridge line, and multiple trails in the area that access the alpine. It’s unreal. And Y2Y is pushing to close the whole area. Yellowknife 2 Yukon initiative.

Ben, the only thing to do is work at keeping them open. Annoy govt officials, bureaucrats, etc. Keep phoning, keep emailing. And join the blue ribbon coalition too. I wish we had them here man!!

 

okay. I need new tires badly. Especially before any kind of trip.

Really want a Load C and has to fit a 17'' wheel.

Im finding lots of 285/70 options in C although I don't love that size overall.


Anyone have some odd off brand tire recommendation for something 33-34ish? Looked at 35s too but just not ready to pull that trigger. I have considered going down to a 32 as well.

 

Are you considering MTs? Or only an AT type?

 

either or. Don't really care that much. If i get MT's ill get some snow tires later for winter.

lol I looked pretty hard at 35s. But really I'm not ready to tube and certainly can't before a trip right now. Hankooks is what i run on my DD and they are nice. Dad had em for a long time. Not C load though for a 33-34.

 

which ones? the ATM? I really like them. Do okay in snow so I can usually run them for the first fall storms with no issues. And my dad took em everywhere. Hell he still might be running them. They last a really long time.


Yeah maybe so. Right now the open country AT III in 285/75r17 is the best option. Bit bigger tire and C load.

 

What about a "D" rated tire? Did you see where goodyear is running a Labor day promo. Is there a Discount tire in Billings? $170 off on a set of 4.

 

I was leaking towards these for a while actually. Nearly bought them this summer. There is a discount tire in Billings so that's nice. Those are on my list as well to consider. Was honestly thinking about these then getting some duratracs in 31s or 32s to run the rest of the time.


THere are a ton of options in 255/70R17. Your old size of 32 BGF KM1s you used to run.

The 32x10 in metric 17s that both Ben and I have run in the past is 255/75r17. Usually C rated.

Ah bummer. Well I'd go for 17s but if you're just going for like a 265 then 16s will be fine
