I can't find an updated recommendation for a front wheel hub and bearing assembly. All the current post are old and recommend a wheel bearing from someone that no longer sells them. Any recommendations will be appreciated, Thank you

I’ve bought from Oreillys for my 4Runner and they didn’t last longer than 30k miles. I put some from Toyota and they’ve been on for 92k miles now.

I’m replacing the steering knuckle next weekend after a caliper bolt fubared the hole. Any idea of what seals I’ll need to install in the new one? I hear outer and inner, but I don’t know which one is which. I’m hoping to take the current bearing off and use it on the new knuckle. Strange, but I was able to break the trapped bolts free, but after a couple turns they all stopped loosening. Any idea why? Thanks

You really only need to replace one seal, it presses onto the steering knuckle. I'd probably replace the o-ring too it's pretty cheap. If the bolts stopped turning you may have hit the housing and will have to pull the bearing out of the knuckle more to be able to further loosen the hub assembly.

interesting, I just bought a Timken rear wheel bearing recently and it was a koyo. What bearings does Timken use for the front then for 2nd gens?

I’m not referring to Timken being Koyo, I’m saying Toyota hasn’t used Koyo up front for many years now, Toyota is using NSK thus my transition to using NSK. Koyo were being used in the rear for entirety of 2nd Gen as far as I know, haven’t seen a 3rd Gen rear bearing yet so can’t speak on those.

I put 2 of these on my front last year, so far so good. Made 2 trips to Wisconsin, 80 plus mph . No issues yet. But time will tell. I did replace the dust seals.
