Thats a very interesting design for a RTT. Looks like new model from Tepui / Thule. How do you like it?

How is that blackstone for portability? I have a full sized one at home that I love, and want to get the one you have for camping. Looks a bit larger than I thought.

Would love an AAR on towing that thing. Getting ready to make a decision on a towable trailer, and looks like yours may be at the top end of our truck’s towing capability. Very nice by the way. Also, pics when you get back. Looks like you’re living the dream. Jealous.

Hey there. It was the first time using it, just picked it up a few days ago. Need to get some cooks on it to get that seasoned flavor. As for the grill, it performed well. Not a super large area to cook on but great for camping and I love how portable it is. Def give it 5 star rating.

For a solo or duo setup this is absolutely sick. Loving the scenery, too.

Also sweet. What tarp is that? I dig the size and looks like reinforced grommets.

I keep forgetting to upload these from last month. The 21st Annual Cessna 150/152 Fly-In, held in Clinton, Iowa July 21-23.

My plane was in the paint shop in Taylorville, Illinois so I had to drive up this year. By the time I made the decision to repaint, all the hotels in Clinton were booked due to construction and rail work, so I decided to camp at the airport.

Tent is a Napier Backroadz. About $160 on Amazon at the time I bought it, which paid for itself after two of the three nights I spent in Clinton, since hotels average $90/night. Also used a Rightline Gear Midsize Truck Bed Air Mattress, which came with its own lighter-socket air pump. Absolutely pleased with the entire setup, and planning on several more trips with my girlfriend this fall.

Very cool and thanks for posting. It's cool to see and here from folks on how they do things in and around camp. I love to cook, especially outdoors, so the new ideas are appreciated. This is a great place, and with the exception of a few, it's a outstanding learning place even for a old 65 yo like me.

It is new for 2021 from Thule/Tepui. Its called the Foothill. I love its compactness and easy of operation. The only piece that takes a little extra effort is the Rain Fly. But let me tell you, the Fly works like a champ. I survived a few hours of Thunderstorm without a drop of water getting in, and I had all windows open to feel the cool winds. The Fly is genius, but a bit of a PITA. Gas mileage only suffered maybe 1mpg.

Yeah, thats what grabbed my attention was the extra large rainfly coverage. Props to them for finally making a RTT meant for other-than-perfect weather
