Nothing wrong with it, I just like the matte look of the 20/21 OR grills over chrome 19 grill. Not interested is getting a pro grill

I've learned to burp throttle while turning. Seems the pump likes a good 1,000+ rippums for 35s. Heavily considering the Howe kit from JD Fab, along with the rest of their catalog, but that's big monies!!!

Also, turning in neutral, slow or fast, isn't any better. I forget this frequently and quickly get reminded. I've had 35s now for ~12 months, and the steering feel has definitely changed. Probably should like check the rack and stuff.

The finish on these honeycomb grills don't hold up worth a damn. That being said, any of you 3rd gen guys upgrade yours? I don't really wanna pay the $400 toyota wants for thr TRD Bro Grills.

I don't know if they're still a thing but there used to be Chinese knockoff pro grills that were like $150 and were indistinguishable in quality from the oem

Has anyone in the area started to flirt with the idea of moving to 37"s on their Gen2?

Do you have a second, or third, reliable stock (unmodified) vehicle? If so, go for it.

35s have been more than enough and the truck is likely still more capable than myself. For now.

Otherwise, read here, intently and diligently. Open your wallet and honestly buy everything JD offers.

The JD hardware is bad ass... I want it all. In due time...

I just sold my daily driver since I rarely drive daily... my wife has a new reliable vehicle and works close to home. Therefore, I can use that vehicle any time as needed so long as I can drop her off at work! This has also freed up some income which was directed toward the daily to the truck again.

Back to the task at hand. The truck is back to my primary vehicle and I have decided to look at bumping tire size to get a bit more ground clearance. I'm running 285/75R16's now and want to move from my M/T's to a larger A/T. I tend to stay out of the deep sticky mud and don't think I'm benefiting for the M/T tires off-road. What I could benefit from is more ground clearance and better articulation. I will be sticking on my BAMF shock relocation kit this evening with my 12" smoothies. The rear is pretty close to where I want it. The front is a well appointed mid travel set up... but I will be changing that up shortly. Most likely over the winter 1) if I can decide on my setup, and 2) if the lead times on parts ever get back to normal. I have a bunch of welding and reinforcement to do up front before anything changes from a suspension stand point to keep me busy until then.

My question is if anyone local has attempted the 37's route, and what positives and negative have you experienced? I was hoping to put eyes on something and talk to someone to get a better "feel" for the cost / benefit ratio. I have been pouring over the forums for a while to see just exactly what keeps most people from moving from the 35's to 37's? Just was hoping to talk with someone local...

Tubbing is the biggest thing for 37s. You can get away with minor rubbing on 35s, but 37s needs the entire fenderwell reworked, or your limiting uptravel 1-1.5inches. Even if you get the JD fab lower pivot kit you will need to tub.

Next your on to the reliability of the stock parts, on 35s your able to break stuff fairly easily if your not careful, whether its steering, suspension or axles, your usually at the limits. Either get used to buying spares and changing parts out, or open up your wallet.

Depending on your wheeling style you will need a bigger rear axle, aftermarket steering rack, gusseted spindles and coil buckets.

Also, the thing i tell most people, 37s get you on trails where body damage is highly likely, look at any of the big tire guys, we all have some sort of damage or chopped the truck up to minimize it.

Anybody else around NKY area? I live and work in Hebron, have a 1st gen tacoma thats pretty much designated to sitting in the driveway for the majority of the year and gets trailered to the trails when I make it out occasionally.
