    The "hole" in the tranny is just the inspection port in the bell housing for the clutch. It should have a rubber or plastic plug; no big deal a couple of bucks at the auto parts store. The oil is more of a concern; that's likely either a leaking rear main seal, or leaking input shaft. Either one is a trans-out job, and could well mean there's oil on the clutch. The rest of the truck looks pretty decent for what it is, and I think it would be a fun toy to have, knowing that you're buying with work outstanding.

    Hey thanks for pointing that out! What do you think it would cost to pull out the transmission and repair a leakage like that?

    $750 - 1000 + parts at a shop. Not too tough to do in the driveway.
