Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

It's why I've been collecting parts for over a yr now to build the front end exactly how I want on the first go. Trying to eliminate any hiccups or down time just throw everything at it all at once.

 

So never heard but what grease does jd recommend for their uca ball joint? Haven’t done anything yet but idk if just red high temp was good or not?

 

A good moly grease is what I always use for that kind of thing.

 

FWIW- I put Red N Tacky on everything with a zerk, hinge, bearing or PTO shaft around here. It hasn’t let me down yet.

 

Caterpillar lubes are really good, the Desert Gold is really good but pricey around $20 per tube

Yes that'll work. I really am not worried with the brand. Just look into the benefits of moly greases vs. the old school just red wheel bearing greases. For some things that old school red and tacky stuff is fine others I'd go with something else.

 

Liqui Molly is the the answer for high % molybdenum greases.

For everyone with seasons and trucks experience *water* (whatever that stuff is...we don't have it here on the west coast) then Lucas Red Tacky is your answer.

 

I also use red n tacky. No idea if that's "correct" but I grease all my zerks monthly/before every trip because it's incredibly easy with an electric grease gun. I figure the frequency makes up for it if the grease properties aren't perfect.

The 05-06 had the frame caving in issue from off road use.

The 96-04 had less of a frame issue, but more of a "frame perch plate ear cracking" issue

Either way, we see ZERO issues after replacing them with the new fabricated poly bushing mount. Everything is tight, no rebound effect from flexing and therefore no cracking or "slide hammer effect" of a 450lb motor beating on the frame.

The name "Solid Offroad" is a play on words aka, your drivetrain mount points are now "solid" to put down the skinny pedal

The only time you would want an actual full solid steel or aluminum drivetrain mount would be in a full tube chassis, fully caged race vehicle. For what we do, a tough poly bushing is perfect.

It's a moly-fortified NLGI #2 grease, which is whatcha want. It's the one I've got in my grease gun right now cause you can get it a Homie D or Wally World but subscribe to the "more often is better than more expensive" method of grease running and gunning so am not particular.
