Interesting article, surprised to read that the US has large lithium deposits but only one mining outfit in Nevada for it. You'd think with something that valuable we'd have been mining the hell out of it already.

Salton Sea is a sad, sad place...but very interesting to visit. That article also mentions that there are no longer dead fish littering the shores, last time I was there the dead fish were in the thousands and you could smell them from miles away. It was almost unbearable at the sea itself. That was 10 years ago though.

I hope it can be turned into something valuable -- especially for a rare like Lithium. It may turn into a Lithium mining boom town someday.

I wouldn't count on it. Salton City is a shithole. I've been there many, many times when I was going to the racetrack from San Diego. Drive thru it every month for 6 or 7 years. Cheapest place in CA to buy land, that's for sure. But it gets really fucking hot there and almost never rains. And no, you don't smell the dead fish any longer but you do smell the brine, which is just as bad. Keep in mind the lake is not a natural lake either. As it says in the article, it was formed from a man-made accident.

    this is the way

a friend started teaching himself to weld and asked who I use for powdercoating. I told him I pretty exclusively use rustoleum and have for years

Finally worked up the motivation to cook my lunch, only to get a reminder from Outlook that I have a work Zoom meeting in 5 minutes.

Hopefully they'll be ok with me not turning on my camera, I fking hate it when people eat on camera during meetings lol. Almost as bad as listening to someone eat on the other end of the phone during a call

    Same.

I called a local paint supplier when I was ready to paint my bed. They had some nice epoxy paint for $400/gal. I noped out and went back to rust oleum.

especially glad since I’m still adding things to it on occasion.

    Fuck

I hope it's residual, but leaving work for lunch spotted a tiny puddle underneath the front end passenger side.

Back up a hair and find out it's diff fluid.

If I weren't in slacks and tie, I'd be on my back assessing so this is the best I could do.

Guess we'll see tomorrow once I'm off :burp:

yyyeeep this is why I haven't done my seal again after the last time. I saw it leaking after doing it and was like fuck that, it can wait :bananadead:

But seriously I hope yours isn't because you did it the right way with a seal driver and all. I just shoved mine in with the axle like a brute.

It might just be left over oil that was already past the seal from pulling the axle out, I'd wipe it up with degreaser and see/hope that it doesn't come back

Agreed. Just wipe it clean when you have the chance and give it a few days to see if it comes back.
