So, I was traveling a remote, desert highway in Arizona when my truck broke down. There was no traffic at all and no cell reception so I had no choice but to try to walk to the nearest town.

My one bottle of water ran out quickly and the sun was beating down relentlessly. I walked and I walked and I walked until, at last I saw a roadside stand in the distance. I focused on nothing else but reaching it.

Finally, I reached the stand and asked the guy there
“Please, I am desperately in need of water. Can you help me?”
He replied “No, sorry man. I don’t have any water. But I do have a really nice selection of ties if you’re interested.”
“Ties? I don’t need no stinking tie.” I replied in anger.

So I resumed walking. I walked and walked and walked some more. The hot sun was taking its toll until I was reduced to crawling. So, I crawled and crawled and crawled until, at last I saw, in the distance, a roadside restaurant.

I focused only on reaching my destination. I crawled as fast as I could until, at last I reached the door.
“Water, I must have water.” I croaked to the waiter.
“I’m sorry sir. I can’t serve you without a tie”

That’s really cool. Heard this morning crews are coming from the northeast as well. Reports are it will be up to three days just for the energy company to assess the damage. All eight transformers in New Orleans are down including one that fell in the river.

And still those voices are calling from far away,

Truck took a hit like a champ and pretty sure saved the house!!

 

Our electric and cable is right on the other side so feels like she sacrificed herself for the cause! Love that truck even more now.
