One of my first mods, found them on eBay when I was looking color match stickers for the door sills. 4 years and they haven't faded one bit.

yea, when i was in my 20's that's what i would have done. i watch all the car restoration shows on TV and they always talk about all the filler that was on the car they are working on and how that's not the way to do it. i will most likely not do it but the thought has crossed my mind more than once.
how about the 22's TRD raised metal stamped on the rear of the bed side, that would stop me dead in my tracks from buying it

Thanks for the input. For all the negative peeps out there, I was not asking for your opinion but seems like in today's world everyone wants to push their agenda on everyone. Then we wonder why the world is so divided.

Yeah, I am with you on this one! When I bought my 2019 TRD Sport, I ordered decals for my mudflaps as they came blank. They actually sent me extras, and one set was exactly the same size as the lettering on the tailgate handle! So I put that on there so it would color match the rest of the truck. A small thing, but it did make it "pop". While I was at it, I also put a set of letters on my official Toyota trailer hitch cover. It also came with raised TOYOTA letters but they were black, like the rest of the hitch cover. Then, if all that wasn't enough, I also have a tonneau cover that I got aftermarket. I put another set of TOYOTA letters in the middle on the back edge of that, so in the middle of the back of my truck, it says TOYOTA three times, on the tonneau cover, the tailgate handle, and then on the hitch cover! Just in case someone wanted to know what kind of truck it was.... ;-)

Glad this place didn't scare you off. What I've found in the 3+ months I've had my truck is that there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who are willing to share and give advice to those of us that don't really know a lot about certain topics, but sometimes the price you pay is you have to take a few unsolicited comments. Just ignore them and move on. Most people here will go out of their way to steer you in the right direction.

Well to be fair, you asked for options in your initial post. One of those options would be... to do nothing with the letters. I don't understand how that may be hurtful.

    Enjoy your truck.

The tailgate letters should illuminate like a led brake light strip.

Tufskinz are far superior!! You pay for what you get. They are UV resistant and raised lettering so they’re more noticeable. Come with great instructions. Google the name!

Just saying if toyota wants to pay me to display any accessory lettering of theirs on their trucks i'll oblige. Its like being sponsored by a product, or manufactured when racing motocross, or any other form of competition. I guess its being more of a poser deal for me than anything else.

i read every post in this thread and don't see any negative other than some choose to de-badge, just there opinion which is when we do here.
however there will be 'negative peeps" that will not hold back and pull no punches and you will know when you wake them up, we have all been there.

If anyone crosses the line and is nasty, you can REPORT them to the Admin. He will check it out and do what he has to do. I like this group, as it has been insanely helpful to me when I had my old 96 Tacoma XtraCab, and now with my 2019 TRD Sport. I don't care what you want to know, SOMEONE on here can help you with that, and that is what it is all about.

Clowns in this thread incorrectly comparing "TOYOTA", a brand, to "TACOMA", a model.

"I don't want no brands on my stuff! I'm not advertising for free!" I bet you rip the BVD tags out of your tightey-whitey underwear too.

It's funny that this is a debate about a logo that can't be removed without making the tailgate look considerably worse...(Fill with Bondo and respray maybe?)

It's not like the OP is looking to install a Heritage grille with some Raptor lights.
