Good thinkin'. I have mine coming in tomorrow, but I won't be keeping them in the bed all the time - only for snow and trips, so I will probably do like the guy you quoted but maybe with a cam strap or something. I also have a soft topper but don't have it on all the time. So, will be interesting.

What you've done is actually remove some of the ability to ..... stiffen the bed

    https://www.fictiv.com/articles/bes...-to-3d-printed-parts-for-structural-integrity

Long of the short - those ribs add a lot to the rigidity that the bed stiffeners are needed for, you've just reduced their performance by a ton.

    Yeah
Thanks. Yes it is, Bilstein 5100's on setting 4 up front, 5100's with a Deaver AAL in the rear. 1/4 front and 1/2 rear leveling spacers on the driver side.

Ya, it's a temporary fix. The carraige bolt idea is one I'm looking at. Softopper means I can't pull it tight against the side of the bed, so I'm just lookign at how I want to set it up around that.

I'd encourage you to look at the photo again, I left the welded triangle behind, so the two planes are still triangulated. The part I cut off was hanging out in the air, attached to nothing.

Also your link is for 3D printed plastic parts, I would think the behavior of steel would be different. The perpendicular-to-the-bed portion is what would provide the stiffness I would think, since the intent is to resist the bed sides bowing out.

ARE topper. Mud guards, factory steps, third bed rail behind cab, tacorail accessory holder, ram mount tablet mount, hood wrap and retro stripes. Bug shield and window shields. Molle seat cover on tear seat.
Welcome to the Bluegrass State! I put my front tag holder on after I found it under the seat. Put whatever you like!20210831_165056.jpg

Ah - I see, you cut off one of the tie downs. Yup - that shouldn't really do anything

Not much at all, actually, when it comes to stiffness geometry and stress concentrations, etc. I thought you had cut out a lot of that perpendicular "rib" material.

Not so much the add a fuse but rather hijacking the INJ circuit which is pretty critical.

I agree. I think I prefer it over the Pro grill. I used the 3bmakers adapters. I liked these ones because they still allow some airflow rather than fully plugging the openings where the lights are mounted.

But how will strangers know which trim level you purchased?

Don't you care at all about losing the buff horsies TuRD stickers add?
