No fairly straight forward install. The bolt set up is different than the R4T Video on YT. Bushings are now aluminum vs. plastic.

Hacked the horizontal ears off my Total Chaos bed stiffeners. They didn't add any tie-down functionality I'm going to miss, but they definitely jabbed hard into the side of my Exped Megamat Duo mattress.

Well, didn’t really do anything to the taco, but after three months of waiting we finally took delivery of our new jumping jack tent trailer/toy hauler. I’ll have to set it up, but we’re super pumped to get out with it!

You may need to relocate the pulley. All you do is unbolt it, move the front bolt hole on the pulley to the rear bolt hole on the truck, mark where the new hole should be and drill a new rear bolt hole.

I'm running 275/70R17 and bought another matching rim and the same size tire so I have 5 of the same tires/rims.

Yep that'll work, until the bungee gets old -or- MN winters gets to the rubber core!
Just get two carriage bolts, file a flat on two sides of the head, and slid them into the bedrails. Add a nut to hold the position, then a spacer (if needed). Put your trax on the bolts -using the lower holes- and hold w/ a washer, spacer, & wing nut. (I do have a locking cable at one end for security. The other cable in the photo was an experiment; it's gone now.) I also mounted mine to the front bedrail, and I run a ST.

Only I could screw up taking the air dam off lol. Took like 2 hours because the screws got stripped. Demon rings and shackles took 5 minutes

Good thinkin'. I have mine coming in tomorrow, but I won't be keeping them in the bed all the time - only for snow and trips, so I will probably do like the guy you quoted but maybe with a cam strap or something. I also have a soft topper but don't have it on all the time. So, will be interesting.

What you've done is actually remove some of the ability to ..... stiffen the bed

    https://www.fictiv.com/articles/bes...-to-3d-printed-parts-for-structural-integrity

Long of the short - those ribs add a lot to the rigidity that the bed stiffeners are needed for, you've just reduced their performance by a ton.

Thanks. Yes it is, Bilstein 5100's on setting 4 up front, 5100's with a Deaver AAL in the rear. 1/4 front and 1/2 rear leveling spacers on the driver side.

Ya, it's a temporary fix. The carraige bolt idea is one I'm looking at. Softopper means I can't pull it tight against the side of the bed, so I'm just lookign at how I want to set it up around that.

I'd encourage you to look at the photo again, I left the welded triangle behind, so the two planes are still triangulated. The part I cut off was hanging out in the air, attached to nothing.
    3456345783457345.jpg

Also your link is for 3D printed plastic parts, I would think the behavior of steel would be different. The perpendicular-to-the-bed portion is what would provide the stiffness I would think, since the intent is to resist the bed sides bowing out.
