I have been thinking about getting a receiver shackle and recovery strap for some time now. Are these worth getting?

I won't link to the strap because the dang thing keeps selling out anyway :D

I am not sure I need it - I live in Eastern WA which usually gets a lot of snow, but our last couple winters have been sketch at best. But is it one of those things that is better to have and not need than need and not have? (in other words, is it worth $50 for peace of mind?)

they are pretty cheap, but get a recovery strap not a tow rope.
they are designed to pull, and have flex to make it smoother.

    I say go for it!

I like those [a lot], but they are notably more $ and do not include the strap. Plus I've got a $10 off $50 coupon at SSA

My mistake - I'm not quite 'in it', but I did mean recovery strap. Glad I chose the strap when I was more cognitive.

    Thanks for the info!

Nether does the one you posted and the 10 bucks shipping on the Warn one unless your buying more stuff your not getting it much cheaper.

I say buy whatever you want but I have seen the elite hitch shackles and they are built well.I have never seen the Warn one's It looks like it's cast but I don't think you could break it before you broke the pin.

That is a pretty good price on the Warn Reciever Shackle.
As far as the Recovery Strap though, I would recommend trying one of ours. We can also have them made up in Recovery Orange, Tree Strap Green, and Heavy Duty Edge Protected Silver.

I want one that sticks out as far as a regular receiver hitch. So if someone decides they don't want to stop in time they'll run into that first
