Just an FYI, UP 4014 big boy steam loco is coming to town today

 

I'm about to head to Sedalia. Going to chase it back at least to Greenwood

 

Catch it at a crossing if you can, that whistle is otherworldly.

 

Got a few mapped out. Saw it come into KC on the 9th and immediately planned to take today off.

 

Good good. I got to chase it a bit then too. Too much to do today unfortunately

 

Two observations so far:

1.) Big Boy is utterly badass.

2.) I fucking hate railfans.

 

Overall a good day. Big Boy 4014 is an absolute monster and truly awesome to behold.

I also can't recall witnessing such a selfish and wanton lack of self awareness and complete disregard for self preservation amongst a representation of humanity.
