I’m planning to put 265/70R17 M/T on 2.5” level kit in front Tacoma 3rd gen. Any rubbing?

What is you offset on you wheel? Anything plus you’ll be fine.. with a 2.5 leveling kit, you should have no issues up to -12 offset.

I run the same size tire, with 0 offset stock trd off road suspension, and I have no issues with rubbing.

I have a 16 dcsb TRD Sport. All stock, but I am going to put new shoes on her. I know that a number of folks have noted a liking for the Cooper Discoverer at3 4s, so I would love to hear a review from folks that have driven on this tire for a while. Seems to be a great all around tire, giving great performance on dry, wet, icy, snow, and off roads, while not adding to any road noise.

On a related note, I was considering going slightly larger, possibly to the 265 70 17, so thank you to everyone who indicated that in a completely stock scenario, these will not rub.

Your welcome... take a look at the Toyo open county AT 3’s. That’s what I have and absolutely love them... great look aggressive quite and great off road... I got pics let me know if you want to see them...

Anyone? Anyone have any reviews after long term use of the Cooper Discoverer at3 4s? Very interested in this tire for my stock 16 dcsb Sport. May consider going to the 265/70/17, but could very well stay with the stock size of 265/65/17. Thanks!

Will the 265/70/17s rub on a stock 21 SR5? Any mods I can make to help prevent the rub if so?

plan is to lift it eventually, but not at the same time as dropping $1500+ on wheels/tires.

It shouldn’t. Provided you don’t put mud flaps. Did you see my video on this subject???

To: 265/70/R17 BFG KO2 Load Class C on OEM TRD PRO wheels 17"x7" (pre '21 model).

Some rubbing on OEM front mudflaps at 3/4 turn while heavy braking or going over dips or bumps (think speed bump, driveway dips, etc... not normal roads).
Cutting the front mud-flap "hump" off eliminates 95% of the rubbing during the turns over bumps while braking.
I could probably cut more to get rubbing to stop completely, but it's so rare it doesn't bother me.

    Hope that info helps someone!

Very nice . That is why I didn’t go with the factory oem flaps. They are to rigid and thick. There are aftermarket flaps that are just as nice less rigid and more flexible. Rockblolz and redken. And won’t rub. Tread pattern on the tires can effect it as well the ko2z are pretty aggressive.

Just got some 265/70/17s put on. No rub at all so far. Nitto Terra Grappler G2s, so a smaller 265 tread.

I know it has been some time now, but do you happened to have the pics of the damages from rubbing?

I have read the entire thread and I think it is yes, it will work; however, my combo is a little different than what I have seen in here and I want to confirm first since I am not sure of the suspension height/etc is the same with my truck versus the others I have seen posted in here.

I have a brand new bottom model 2021 SR 4WD. I bought a new condition set of 2019 TRD Sport OEM Wheels and Tires (Toyo 265/65R17) from a friend and got a great deal. They had been sitting in her garage for a few years since she swapped her wheels and tires for bigger ones soon after she bought her Taco. I put them on my SR and they are great and look much better than the 16" steel wheels and 245 Tires that came with my SR.

So my question is, will upgrading to larger Tires (265/70R17) on these OEM TRD Sport wheels I bought from her work without rubbing or anything? I am just a little confused about the SR suspension and height versus the higher end taco models and wanted to make sure.

I plan on going with Hankook Dynapro AT2 265/70R17 tires. Any input on these tires? Has anyone had experience with them?

I appreciate you and forgive me for being a newb:)

I thought all the Tacoma’s have the same ride height? The suspension might be tuned differently in a sport and the off-road has bilstein I believe but I don’t think that they’re “lifted” any over the SR.

if you’re looking to get 265/70/r17 they will rub on front mudflaps. That tire is about 1” different in height than the 265/65/r17.

Here’s a tire size comparison site: Just go to the tire shop and have them do a test fit on the exact tire you want. They won’t be able to predict rubbing over bumps or heavy breaking but they can see if it fits for everyday driving.
