Where'd you get that picture of my cat?

Happy Tuesday gang. Got to meet @Atl-atl (albeit briefly) this morning. He got to see my professional work from home uniform (or lack there of) - I call it the WFH Mullet.

I know some of you fellas have connections to bike shops. I'm trying to locate a medium-sized Santa Cruz Cameleon in their fog color. Open to other models, but Id prefer to keep it in an "ivory" color as it's for our ivory anniversary.

I went to their physical store as I work in the area, and was less than impressed by the staff. They couldn't even look up to see if I needed help. Hammered away at the computer and said what I see is what they have.

Don't have much experience with hiring landscapers so this is gonna be a newbie question...

Place I hired to do the weeds after I had my stroke has been coming out monthly for $85 a month. This month though, they hit me up and said they wanted an extra $50 because it was "overgrown" ... I'm thinking to myself that's bullshit, & not my problem.

Is my spidey-bullshit sense right or is this normal monsoon/turbo weed season procedure?

If it is almost twice as bad as it normally is for 85 bucks because of the rain I think I would understand. Especially in this heat and humidity lately. Just thinking about him as a human and not just a landscaper.

Just don't buy one of their PSUs. They might explode. That would suck so bad to have all that stuff just catch fire.

Are any of you guys AC installers? I need advice to see if I'm doing the right thing here. I got a couple of quotes for a mini split in the garage for the business I'm trying to get going. The crooks from Costco quoted me 9,000 bucks for a 2.5 ton 20 seer unit installed. There is no way I'm doing that. I got a 2nd quote for 6200 dollars for a 3 ton 17 seer Mitsubishi mini split installed. Both seem like a lot to me but I have no idea how to install something like this.

Hell no. You can get a nice 3 ton only for about $2000 at most online and install it your self pretty easily.

That is what I was thinking too but when you watch anything on YouTube it looks easy. Just don't want to kill myself on 220 or get an AC unit from home depot with the name "Mr. Cool" blindly. Don't really want to have to run to the damn hardware store 10 time like it always seems to end up happening either. :annoyed:

It’s not that hard. Watch a few videos and do a little bit of research and you’ll figure it out. The money you save can go into your truck.

That’s the part saves you money though, the trips to Home Depot, and the almost dieing, if you’re not doing either of those you’re not saving that 5-6k lol.

For this advice I now require 35% of your new business.

I installed a 1 ton myself for $525. Piece of cake. 220 is no big deal. Is it a multiple zone or single that you are getting prices for? The single zone ones are less expensive. It might be less expensive to do 2 smaller units vs 1. These things are great.

    Check out e b a y, thats where I got mine.

They are both single units. The cheaper of the two is a Mitsubishi unit as I said and I think that is one reason it is so much. Shopping around it looks like stock is lower and it will take til the end of the month to get one.

Not normal typically. If it rains a ton or not they still have their same job to do 1 day a month regardless of weather.

I was a landscaper for awhile. Didn't matter what weather did (other than knocking down trees and stuff) , our job was to make it look good year round.

Edit: what services do they include for $85 a month?

$85 is front & side yard only. Weed everything, trim the bushes (there's 2 small in the front yard and 2 medium by the RV gate, small being 2ft diameter on the ground, medium being maybe 3ft around and waist height) trim the trees (2 trees), rake the stones, and blow all the bougainvillea bush droppings from the neighbors away.

To be fair there was a shitload of ground covering weeds because the timing on their last service was right before we started getting those really soaking good rains.
