Well, dang. Yeah, I didn't like the MHH route, so I just purchased a 2 day license with TIS and flashed it that way. I guess I wasted about $65. Oh well, I spent quite a bit of time in the service manual section of the TIS website & downloaded a few things. Not a total loss. Lol, live & learn. Thanks Tony.

Yeah. There a lot of goodness on the TIS site.

That is really strange that the version you installed from there would not connect to your Taco though. At this point, if it is still installed, you should be able to launch the CUW file.

I did a similar thing with Carista before going down the TS route. I didn't cancel the trial period in time, so I was roped into a $40 subscription for the year. Still, being able to do all the customizations with messing with the dealer was worth it. Helped a couple other folks out with it also.

The v16.10.017 that I downloaded from TIS worked fine. That version is how I flashed to 04C21 per your recommendations in preparation for the vF tuner software & tune pack. I never tried just double clicking the CUW file after I installed v14. If I get a chance, I'll reinstall it & try it that way just to confirm & report back, but I'm sure you are correct.

Should the spoiler be updated to reflect what has to be done in the search on mmh auto? It says to look for the V15 thread. I would assume the process is the same for V16 and one would have to specify that in the search, correct?

Okay sir, you are correct!! I reinstalled v14 and the Calibration Update Wizard does in fact work on the 2021 just as you stated. The key is to just double click the CUW file and that opens the Calibration Update Wizard only, not Techstream itself. That's where I got confused before. I thought I needed a 2021 compatible version of TS to use the Calibration Update Wizard. Also, for the CUW utility to work, it has to have an activated version of TS. Wish it was just a standalone utility. Oh well, now I know. Thanks Tony.

    You're welcome!

I'm glad that it is working as expected. Saves a lot of editing. :D

You should be all set for the next update if one happens.

I am assuming the OBD2 dongle that comes with VF Tuner software will work for using the tech stream?
    First page it recommends Tactrix

Thanks just checking cause my plan is to do KDMax in the future so might as well go that route.

Besides the TSB update I need to program a new keyfob using tech stream. I lost one. Dealer wants $150 to program

If you plan to do a KDMax, or anything related to VF Tuner, I would buy adapter from them. The stand-alone software is no longer available.

Is the KDMAX adapter a Tactrix?

That is not true. If folks have a Tactrix already, they just need to contact vF Tuner before purchasing to get the software only.

The choice was pulled because folks couldn't understand the difference.

KD doesn't use a different or non-Tactrix adapter. And if they did, they'd be risking bricking the ECU if it even let them flash.

Furthermore, the tune is separate from the hardware. All VFTuner software users use tactrix. Flashing a KDMax file does not make the OBD2 plug/device their adapter.

*I am educating, not talking down to you.
