I was considering keeping the 20" barrel if it was "worth more" leaving it alone. 20" barrels seem to be more rare than the regular 16"

This guy is pretty funny. I'm sure you know of him if you're into AKs. If you don't you should check him out. He's pretty obsessed with Russian firearms.

I know someone that has a 23” Vepr in 54r and has talked about chopping the barrel many times. If you plan to shoot it the barrel length should be a matter of necessity not value. The value goes down the more you put rounds through it and one day the barrel will need to be replaced. (Very long time from now ;) )

long story short, if you want to chop it to 16” then snip snip. Enjoy the gun for you because at the end of the day its just a saiga :stirthepot:

I've got this PolyTech MAK-90 to turn into a spiker. I already have all the conversion parts including an original Chinese stock set. Does anyone have any recommendations on a competent AK builder? Things needed would be gas block drilling and mount, bluing, stock refinishing (colors are slightly off), and front sight drilling and mounting.

Snagged a KNS piston for the SAM5. Got it for pretty darn cheap at OP but shipping will be a bitch. Better than paying $9 though :bananadead:

Nope, just a lowly wasper :D

Once we get all the junk unpacked from the move, still need to officially close and get a solid hand cramp from signing, I'll find my wood stock set and refinish it. Then I'll pursue an optic setup.

Rare TssNIITochMosh 30rd Steel ribbed experimental mag

Up for sale is my 30 rd steel ribbed experimental. Comes with the matching follower, spring and floor plate. These are extremely rare and hardly come up for sale.

This will go out Tuesday shipped and insured. Price is $1900. Will trade for a PVS-14 (gen3) or a PVS-7(gen 2(+)) with a helmet setup.

    First "I'll take it" wins

    Some history too:

    RUSSIAN PROTOTYPE ALUMINUM 30rd
Description: Ostensibly developed for the prototype AL-7 assault rifle, this lightweight aluminum magazine has also been observed in several other early rifle prototypes, including the Korobov TKB-072, Korobov TKB-072-1, and Korobov 5.45/12.7mm machinegun 80.002. Even rarer than the pre-production glass-filled magazine seen below, some of these have become available in the US, but of course demand premium prices. Just so im understanding, you're asking $1900 for a (singular) rare aluminum mag?

Yes. It is one of very few and even fewer in the United States. It's a very important collector piece for a lot of collections. Again this isn't a bake or a plum this is an extremely rare magazine that have sold for this price before.

Also it's actually steel. That article was from 2016 before any were in the US or there were even fewer

And here I am thinking 50-60 bucks is expensive for a mag.
