I’m sure I’m not the first to do this and I know that the OEM bed mat isn’t that expensive, but I picked up a couple 3x3 garage mats yesterday from Lowe’s and made one for $60 and an hour of work. I like the holes and it grips really well.

It's an alternative. Still prefer the OEM bed mat. I can see crud accumulating in the holes thru your mat. At least with the OEM that only occurs around the edges.

Not here to piss on your Cheerios, I ordered the OEM mat from Toyota parts online in either size for $80 shipping included. Ill gladly pay an extra $20 to not have to go picking up parts and taking time to assemble. But thats me. Im not as innovative I guess. Nice job though. Sorry lol, I think I did piss on your Cheerios. Just pointing out what I did.

Wow thats cheap, my dealer claimed they gave me one at cost which was $92...think Toyota when you order a new truck is around $140?

I guess some folks just like to make their own stuff; nothing wrong with that! Having said that, I personally would have still spent the extra $20 bucks on the OEM mat as an hour of my time is definitely worth more than 20 bones!

Piss away, Sir. To each their own. I'm more of a guy who tries to DIY everything I can. Most times it ends up as expensive (sometimes more) than an off-the-shelf product. Next DIY is a bed rack for a couple of kayaks.

Definitely a cool cheap alternative but imo this sums it up.

My dealer told me the same thing . When I gave him my list of accessories , they were priced 25% more than ToyotaOnline .

He said that my pricing was below his cost and good luck take my chances online and Im probably getting counterfeit parts with no warranty. Typical complete Dbag , all he had to do was check the site and would have seen it was an actual Toyota dealer . Lol Silly dealers…

    Whats that, a dealership lied?

Same as others, I paid around $80 including shipping from an online Toyota parts department.

    NOW THIS IS A FIRST!!

Jokes on my sales guy because his review with Toyota hasn't been submitted yet when he doesn't get all the stars he wanted.

    Looks great.

I did something similar with a stall mat from the local farm supply store. all one piece and once you cut the section off for the wheel wells and a bit of length (not necessary for you guys with the 6' bed) it's an easy and cheap alternative to the factory. 4x6 mat was $45.

As others have said, anything is better than no mat. Like an ice rink back there when things start to move.

OP sorry for the negative response you get from some members it is just the way they are they cannot restrain from insulting or degrading others here.
I think it is a great idea whether the price is cheap or not you did an superb job on that so don't take any of these ass holes comments.
