Thinking about changing tires to 285/70R17s so feeler post for my 255/80R17s. Id have to pull mileage from when I bought them to get an accurate mileage but I got them almost 2 years ago. Only about 3 offroad trips on them and have tons of life left. Spare has never seen the ground and is brand new.

Just minutes before saw this pop up in my craigslist auto-search. Unfortunately looks to be SSM instead of MGM, but at least it is a 3rd gen standard box one.

Why the swap?

 

I don't like how the skinnies handle and more tread off road would be more better. Skinnies kinda feel like the wheel is gonna tuck when I corner, maybe I'm just in my head about it, but idk. I have new wheels I want to put on and they are 0 offset vs my stock sports at +30 so if I'm gonna go upgrade, I'll get more width to protect my nice rims, more squish when aired down, and It'll look way better with the wheels not looking like pizza cutters lol. I'll take a hit to MPG without a doubt, but I'm looking at options to remedy that any way. (4.88 regear, 3* cams, red bullet solenoids)

 

I will say that going from stock offset to 0 on my 265/75r16 tires felt like driving a different more betterer truck. I get a crapload more stuff thrown up at my rockers, but I don't have flaps either. Try the wheels first?

 

Good point. I also am running 1.5" spacers so they'll give me a little poke on the sides.

The truck cap from hell is for sale.
I’ve changed trucks and it’s time to move on. A prototype inspired by @Ripcord, it’s made from steel and aluminum. I estimate it’s about 400lbs.
Solar Panel and controller not included.
Has interior, exterior LED lights and setup for a second battery in the bed. This cap is not 100% dry, but will work with some new weather strip on the rails.
This cap is not a Mall Cruiser. It’s for a well trained mechanical type operator, off road warrior wanting a outstanding base to work from. The entire thing can be disassembled in a few hours.
12V electrical knowledge is required.
I have thousands of pictures of the cap being built, camping, and in action. See links below.

Feeler: Just bought a set of 6112s and they came with the original 600lb springs separate since these have the 650lb King coils on that are going onto the truck. Is there any interest in said Bilstein 600lb coils? They look almost new so let me know. I'll take photos when I get home. $50. Local to KCMO area but willing to ship at buyers expense. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.
